Watched Hyde Park on Hudson - very enjoyable save for the absolutely wretched direction - he couldn't kill the good writing and performances but he surely didn't help them.  The film also contains what is now my favorite film score of 2012 by someone named Jeremy Sams, who I have to say I've never heard of.  Thankfully, the album was available on amazon as a download only thing.  I'm listening now and it's just as good away from the film as in it.  It's like the best of Richard Rodney Bennett.

I really enjoyed the samples on Amazon.  I'll have to check it out later. :)

And now, I'm off to the theater for the beginning of our third weekend of "The Wind in the Willows."

Until later!

None.  Keith took these last month & I'm just getting them up now.  In fact the weeping birch is now leafless.

Mostly Oak.  I need to ask Keith what the rest are.  Is there a location you are specifically asking about?

Just wondering what all the color is. I take it the golden ones are oak. I wonder what the yellow one is.

I think that is still an oak, if I'm looking at the correct one.  I'll double check with Keith.

We don't get those trees in the desert. There are some in the mountains.  In the desert most of our trees keep their tiny leaves. Around the creeks there are sycamores, ash, cottonwoods that change color. A few people have ash trees as yard trees.

DR Laura there are two different views of both the maple & the weeping birch taken at different times.  In one photo the birch is green and in the other it is yellow.  Specifically it is a Young's Weeping Birch.

The oaks do exceptionally well here and are a pain to keep up with.  We are glad to have reduced the ones close to the house, leaving only a beautiful black oak.

Snow tires are mandatory here, I believe after Dec 15th.

Even if you don't drive your car in the snow?

If you drive your car after Dec 15th then you have to have the snow tires.
