Voldemort is basically a middle school girl: he has a locket, a diary, a tiara, a ring, and is completely obsessed with a teenage boy.

I've been out in the rain to run some errands, and now I am in for the evening. I'll be in bed early. Tomorrow is another morning Toyland trek to wait for a FedEx shipment of supplies for the binder.

DR John, do you sit out on the patio with the lovely view?
Close to it. You're a little off to the site, but you face what this faces or you have your back to it.

Nice.

One of my neighbours has taken to putting their recyclable waste into my bin (large wheelie bin) when theirs is full. I went to put some newspapers in it today but couldn't because it was full up. I've put a stop to them using it by moving the bin behind my locked gate. If they have too much waste for the bin, then they should do what I do if I have too much for my bin and take it to the recycle depot which is only a few minutes away.

People can be very rude.

I went to IKEA for the very first time this weekend. There is this whole shopping center near the airport in Portland that I never knew existed.

It was like discovering a long lost civilization.

I hope you had fun.

I had to call my tax accountant this morning. He's in his nineties and is truly an elderly Jew. He wished me a Happy Passover, then asked if I'm going to services this evening. I've never had anyone ask me that! I grew up  around Jewish families, but I guess they all knew I'm not Jewish. In any case, I explained that I'm only a virtual Jew.

I purchased a copy of "An Evening with Dorothy Fields," the CD. I really enjoy listening to her stories. Looking forward to hearing it again.

Set off in the motor this morning and after a few yards started wondering what the flapping noise was. Stopped the car, looked out the window and saw I had a flat. Drove back into the drive, looked on the internet and found a local mobile tire supplier, who I'm now waiting for, having said they'll be here within the hour.

A mobile tire service! What a great idea! A gas station delivered a battery to me once when my car had a dead one, but I hear of very few mobile automotive services. I'd love to see more of that.

But, Doug, I'm puzzled as to how you looked out the window and were able to see your tires.  ???

Greetings from Toyland!

Just as I was ready to leave, one of the electric outlets in my apartment - and there are far too few! - went out, shutting down my tv, DVD, reading lamp, alarm clock, and several other lights and appliances. I sent an electrician request to my landlord and also checked with my super about an electrician.  God alone knows when this repair will occur, so I am a bit pissed at the moment.

Maybe it's time to call Ghost Busters?

I just wound the window down and stuck my head out and saw that the back wheel tire was flat. Maybe I've got a very long neck  ;D

I can blame the printer in the middle of the night on the ghost, but I believe the outlet was the result of a lousy electrician over 30 years ago. It's always been a problem, but i have avoided dealing with it since it worked for the most part until today.

I understand. I avoid plumbing repairs here because I loathe the plumber they use, a real Neanderthal. I'm glad it was fixed so quickly.

My entire rant about the Dracula Blu-ray idiots got reprinted in total on a movie website, by a fellow who is in complete agreement with me.

Good evening!

I woke up to a couple of inches of snow this morning.  I was surpirsed--didn't expect that much.  Of course, most of it is gone now.  Snow turned to rain during the day.

Barbra's added a second London show (on June 3rd).  Not sure where I'm going except for Amsterdam (on June 6).  My friend who lives in the Netherlands got a ticket for me.

DR Laura, the Brent Barrett as Captain Hook I'm seeing is in Schenectady, NY.  (Or Synecdoche.)

Orchestra, 4th row center, $60.  It would have been $70 but I'm going up for a weekday matinee because I don't feel like making it an overnight trip.  And I'm going by myself, so the single seat made it easier to get.

4th Row Center at the Pantages in Hollywood was about $190!  I didn't get one at that price.

It sounds like a great trip.  I have friends with three Bernese Mountain Dogs and a baby that live in the Netherlands.  Once again I want to tag-a-long. :)
