I will likely use lime. I will add anchovies, which is not original, but I like them.

Ok, now this is disgusting.  Just read that a little girl had to use the bathroom on a Jet Blue plain while it was delayed on the tarmac.  They wouldn't let her get up and she ended up wetting the seat and herself and they still wouldn't let he mom get up and take care of her.

Adults have the same problem.  This is crazy.  I'm guessing this rule comes from higher up than Jet Blue.  If the girl had gone to the bathroom the plane would likely have returned to the gate and the family kicked off.   ::)

Jane, I believe it's all airlines. It has something to do with being on the tarmac. Does anyone know details?

Right, from "higher up" whoever that is.  It seems urinating on the seat is also a health risk.

That's what I was thinking.  And what kind of cleanup did they do before the next passenger sat there

I found this article from 2011 which states:
Adequate toilet facilities must be maintained and made available to passengers during the delay.

http://www.ibtimes.com/tarmac-delays-knowing-your-rights-passenger-382706

I will see if I can find something more current.

I didn't find anything more current, I did however find the story DR Cilla mentioned.

Apparently Jet Blue stated "We understand your concern. However, there are very strict FAA regulations when a plane is on the tarmac."  Of course a link to that regulation wasn't included.

JetBlue and ANY airline that denies a passenger a bathroom because the stupid airport is backed up, should be held accountable.  This is why I simply have no interest in traveling anymore and if it was me, I would have gotten up and used the bathroom and if that meant they returned to the gate and booted me off the flight, so be it.  How DARE them.

We had a tornado watch the other day that preceded a nice thunderstorm with a good amount of needed rainfall and no tornadoes at all. Hope yours are likewise, Cillaliz.

Off to a pizza party. I wish I were a little more awake, but those sleep studies are really draining. I've had three naps today and still could use another.

DR John G I'm curious how the sleep study has been so draining.  I've heard from people they were fine with them.  Maybe they just say that to encourage me to go.

I admit, I am obsessed with the possibility of not being permitted to use the bathroom on a plane.  I should say obsessed with knowing what my rights are.  I think a good reporter might have called the FAA and asked if the Jet Blue statement was correct.

After reading the full story I was correct, this almost happened according to the mother.

Still, would be worth finding out if this is an actual regulation - I mean, not the fact that the plane was on the tarmac, but in a HOLDING position on the tarmac, going nowhere.  That's what's at issue here.  As I said, I would have gone, and they could just damn well have gone back to the gate and escorted me off the plane.  It's shameful.

Easy to say they can escort you off, however, if you have an important commitment where you are headed it could be an issue.

One is permitted to use the facilities prior to the plane departing, always a safe thing to do if you can't go just before boarding.  I expect this little girl should have done that but I'm sure the mother never imagined what happened.  I'm just careful because I know they won't let you up if there is turbulence, not that I want to get up anyway and get more air sick.

I had this for the first time a few months again and it terrified me because I  thought  I had a detached retina and was going to go blind ( this happened to a member of our church)

The opthamolgist  explained about the occular migraine and that now I have had one I will probably continue having them

It causes disruption in my  vision and I have to stop reading  or using the computer  watching TV  etc until it passes

the party was for the man who was the best man at our wedding and Vixdad was in charge of getting him out of his house while the party was put together  and then back to his  house for the party without alerting him

He performed admirably and the surprise went off without a hitch

My car tire, as expected was flatter than a pancake, but fortunately we all have  air compressors inour cars, so I  pumped up the tire  as full as I could  and the Vixter followed me to the tire place and we arrived just as they opened at 9 am

the hole was  right in the tire wall  and I had been told in January that the rear tires would need replacing soon  so I bit the bullet and  bought a pair of rear tires

If the plane is not moving for hours then the rules should change. That makes no sense. it's one thing if the plane is on the tarmac for a few minutes. but absolutely ridiculous to hold everyone hostage for hours.
