And the scooter is now repaired, at least, until I get home and get a real replacement.

I can see it's been a stressful time for some.

But what if Ken had not been with me?  What if the other screw had fallen out?

So glad to hear the scooter has been repaired.

The front desk's answer fits right in with the sort of week I had. Gawd!

They wouldn't have helped me?  They wouldn't have even come to my cabin?

I wonder if this is a common occurrence with this model scooter. Tom, you might want to check online once you get home and settled. It might be a simple matter of having a spare screw on hand or some other easy fix. Other scooter owners might be able to tell you more.

I would have spent the rest of my life in the stupid cabin, because they had been advised not to fix or repair it?

Ken flipped out and stormed down to the front desk, where he was given a small screw that actually fit.

;D

GOOD FOR KEN!!!!

I hope you include this incident in your evaluation of the cruise.

You have confirmed this is your scooter, which I had thought, that you are traveling with.

Where does it go on the plane?

What if some elderly person, traveling alone, had the same problem?

How do you travel with the scooter? It's part of your luggage when you fly?

It is a warning to you though to put together a kit to carry with you, even at home.

I don't blame you for being angry. Cruises carry lots of older folks, who often need a bit of extra help. And anyone can have an accident--or "incident"--where they need a bit of help. Their "It's not my job" attitude is inexcusable.

Yesterday's appointment went well and my doctor was happy: glucose content has decreased, blood sugar levels are down, and I've lost several more pounds.  I left the doctor's around 900, walked to my pharmacy for my meds, then headed down to City Center.  By 1:30, when I left there, I was ready for some sleep, but it was too bright in the apartment to sleep, so I puttered around the place until dinner like a zombie.

I'm glad to hear of your progress. To what do you attribute it?

They take the scooter at the door of the plane, and then put it down below for the flight.  It is waiting for me (reassembled) when I get off the plane.

Trying to get everything that  sprang out of the suitcase when it was first opened, and now will not fit back in.

I do know that problem! Have you noticed that dirty clothes take up more room than clean ones? Seriously. Maybe if we folded them like we do our clean ones they'd take less space.

I am soon off in the rain to a wedding and reception.....I will carry my new umbrella and I am wearing my $15 outfit.

WHAT?! Another splurge?!  ;)

I'm sure you'll look quite spiffy in your new outfit.

Mercury retrograde until May 21, just so you know.....

With a couple other retrogrades thrown in, I'm told. I hope this past week isn't an indication of what's to come.

That sounds like a good deal. That's better customer service than I associate with the airlines.

You must pay extra for it, given the extra weight.
