Well, I'm told by those in the know that there will be cake.  I'll probably leave at six, as traffic going that way looks crazily crazy.

I know that my buddy, from the Scarlet Street boards, Bob Gutowski will be attending the book event.  And Richard and Tom most certainly are too.

It doesn't seem to have put us into hyperspace. If it does, let me know and I'll fix it when I return. The pictures on the radio (on the right) are of my father during his army days, my paternal grandfather (in the wooden frame) with a friend of his from early Canada days and the picture on the far right is my mother in her wedding gown. Don't know if you can see them in any detail but just thought I'd mention the family heritage. We also have Elaine Stritch (up above the radio), Dinner at Eight  (on the left) and Coward and Lawrence from Tonight at 8:30

All righty, I'm on my way to the signing.  I shall have a full report for you later, upon my return from Joe Allen's.  Keep the home fries burning.

Worst travel experince. 1975. From Washington DC to LA. A  Beechcraft Baron crashed into the cockpit. Sucked out the co-pilot, blinded the pilot and the flight engineer also died. The head stewardess flew the plane until they were able to get a pilot dropped into the cockpit. And Gloria Swanson was one of the passengers. Or maybe this was a dream?????

Evening all!

BK, you know that I am teasing you?  I just wanted to know if your hotel room has a bathtub.  It’s the burning question I will have for anyone who goes to NYC from now on.   ;D

DR M. Brandon, Hello and welcome!   What a story!  At least it had a happy ending.

DR Noel, what a lovely picture of the Mrs--Clause that it.  You can’t kiss her until she’s out of costume or we’ll have to come up with a new Christmas song:

I saw Noel kissing Mrs. Clause.
Underneath the mistletoe last night………..

Vibes to Emily!

[move=left,scroll,6,transparent,100%]~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~[/move]

Not being much of a world traveler, may I ask a question?  What happens if you miss a connecting flight?  Do you just fly out on the next available one that is going to the place you were supposed to go?  Do you have to pay extra for that?  What about your bags?  What if you miss your flight and your bags don’t?  What happens then?

Another newbie!  Welcome to you as well, DR Donna!  Thank you for sharing your stories!

TD, Good vibes to your Dad.  I hope he stays well.

DR Jane, thank you for the lovely card.  I will have to send you my address again—you left off a number.

I also watched The Librarian.  I also enjoyed it.  I mean it wasn’t Shakespeare but  it was better than some of the other silly things I’ve seen on TV.

I will also post on BWW, even though I rarely do that anymore.

Best of luck with the signing tonight, BK!  It’s just a little over a half hour away at the time I’m typing this.  I hope you get lots and lots of people there.

Enjoy Joe Allens.  I can just picture you all there!  Do they still have the chicken and sweet potato dish I had while I was there?

Lots of pictures, please!

Ben, that is a lovely tree.  I don’t think we (make that I) are going to bother this year.

Last but not least, I know some of you are getting tired of me talking about them but I can’t help it.  I had another lovely surprise when I got home tonight.  Well, TWO lovely surprises, if I want to be honest.

One, some more of my four O’clocks bloomed.  I have my lightest pink (almost white) color AND my speckled pink and white that I wanted!  Just a few more colors and combos to go and I will have them all!

Two, I got most of my Deep Discount DVD order!  Yay!  Now, making the time to WATCH them all.  Oy.   Where to start?

This one caught my eye. From last Sunday's NY Times Weddings & Celebrations section:

Pamela Lee Cohen and Milo Bernstein were married yesterday in New York. Dr. Bernard Weitzman, a Buddhist minister, officiated.

Just received this from a friend. Useful info. I registered online. It's simple....

"Starting Jan 1, 2005, all cell phone numbers will be made public to
telemarketing firms.  This means as of Jan 1st our cell phones may start ringing with telemarketers on the other end, but unlike our home phone, most of us pay for our incoming calls. Telemarketers can end up costing us money on our cell phones.

According to the National Do Not Call List, we have until Dec. 15th, 2004 to get on the national "Do not call list" for cell phones. You need to call 1-888-382-1222 from the cell phone that you wish to have put on the "do not call list" to be put on the list. OR you can do it online very easily at:  http://www.donotcall.gov

Registering only takes a minute, is in effect for 5 years and will possibly save you money (and likely frustration)."

If I had the money, you'd have that Christmas gift, Jrand.  You'll have to take a rain check until I win the lotto.  We're at 16 years of waiting and counting.

I'm going there now, Panni.  In fact, I'm glad you said something because I got my first junk call on my cell phone for a cruise ship trip package yesterday.  I was sooo angry.   >:( >:(

I'm paying for the airtime for THEM to try to sell me something.   >:(

Yep, latkes are potato pancakes - traditionally served at Chanukah, though I could eat them any time.

I guess you don't have to be Jewish to like them.  My Mom made them for me when I was growing up all the time.  The only problem was scraping them. Ouch!  That hurt if you were not careful!

Let's see, it's potatos, egg, flour and a little onion.  Is that how you make yours?
