We’re given two days a year to do volunteer work. I haven’t done mine, so tomorrow I usher for eight hours. Hope I can stand that long.

If you explain your problem can you sit in a chair  when the seating rush is over?

I stopped at Trader Joe's today. I didn't see any apple pie and asked about it. I was told that they've lost one of their bakers. They managed to obtain lots of pumpkin pie. They did have an apple tart and I'll be giving that a try this year.

Oh my.  I wonder if that was a local situation, or national.

I'll be checking in on Trader Joe's at least twice in the coming week.  We buy our Thanksgiving turkeys there now, and quite a few of the accoutrements.  That big shopping trip will be over the weekend.  I also want to stock up on several bottles of their Triple Ginger Brew and a few other seasonal things.

If you learn anything about this situation I'd be interested to hear it. Is this the Great Apple Pie Shortage of 2017?

Watching the latest Poldark. As we get near the end of the season, the ugliness is ratcheting up.

We have two episodes left to watch this season.

You'd think that Trader Joe's has regional suppliers, but I really don't know.

John G, if you're interested in stretching, Bob Anderson's book Stretching is excellent. You can actually figure out how to do the stretches from the illustrations.

TOD:
The move from the townhouse in Calabasas to the house I live in now. Under the terms of the escrow, I was supposed to move out on a Saturday so the new owner could move in on Sunday. Really?? I'm supposed to move in one day? Thank goodness the new owner had a job that required him to travel a lot, and he wasn't going to be around to move in on Sunday anyway. It took Mark and I a full week to move. There's absolutely no way we could have done it in one day.

And here's tonight's drama.  Around 8:00 I noticed that Thatch's dinner which I'd left at the bookshelf entry was untouched.  Since he gobbles food, this concerned me, so I spent some time trying to find him under the shelves.  What I did find horrified me: a lot of boric acid and roach and bedbug poison that had been sitting under those shelves since the bedbug infestation of 2008.  All I could think is, if this hasn't already killed him, it will soon.  So, Annabelle and I had our ice cream ad I decided I'd better find him.

I don't think you should tell The Animal Project about this.  ;)

Scary cat tales, Elmore.

I can't imagine having to deal with that!

I've been recoding it for my friend, Margo.  Right now, I'm burning episodes 5-8  onto a disc.

The worst thing I encountered were some dark traffic signals, but most drivers were behaving.

At lunch today, I had to go to my credit union and there were three intersections that had no power.  Fortunately, people were driving safely, and I encountered no problems.

Back from a long day - first the band rehearsal, then the sitzprobe, then the run-through.  We finished the sitzprobe late so the run didn't start until almost eight, then I had a LOT of notes, so I'm just getting home close to midnight.
