FYI, Harvey Fierstein (FIDDLER ON THE ROOF) will be performing on Regis & Kelly tomorrow.

Also, did you guys hear about THE APPRENTICE - MARTHA STEWART.  It's a new show starting in the Fall by Mark Burnett.  I think it sounds very cool.

This is the press release:
Martha Stewart Looks For An "Apprentice"

When MARTHA STEWART gets out of prison, she will be looking for an "Apprentice," it was announced today by DONALD TRUMP, MARK BURNETT and JEFF ZUCKER. According to Burnett, "'The Apprentice: Martha Stewart' spin-off is a natural expansion of the franchise." The Donald added, "It was an easy decision for us." The deal was struck prior to the domestic diva's incarceration, and work on the project can begin as soon as she is released in March, even though she will still be under house arrest. The rules of house arrest permit her to leave for 40 hours a week to earn a living. As to whether or not Martha will use Donald's catchphrase, "You're fired," that will be totally up to her, but Donald says, "Probably not. She does things differently than me." The airdate for the series will be announced in May.

This morning I watched THESE THREE the first version of Lillian Hellman's THE CHILDREN'S HOUR.  I liked it a lot.....Merle Oberon and Miriam Hopkins and Joel McCrea....Alma Kruger as the grandmother and Bonita Granville as the horrible Mary with Marcia Mae Jones as her shill.  I really like the remake, but this one is terrific.  The little girls are particularly superior to their counterparts, although Veronica Cartwright as the scared little girl, Rosalie, in the remake is heartbreaking.

Whew!  What an evil girl......Bonita's Mary is right up there with Rhoda Penmark - close......

We were very disappointed with ENTERPRISE.  Part of our problem was, at the time, we couldn’t get a decent picture on our local Fox station.

BTW We gave up on BATTLESHIP GALACTICA to watch NUMBE3S.  We can’t watch them both.

DR Jose, I found one review of Whistle at Curtain Up but I'm not sure which other Philly-area papers to look for. Looking for reviews  for Whistle even with limitations brings up too many hits.

The Curtain Up review, btw, was not pretty. Although compared to the reviews for Good Vibrations today, it's quite nice ;-)

Btw, for those of you who are fans of WILL AND GRACE.  Patti Lupone is supposed to be on tonight.  And Chita Rivera is supposed to be on next week.

And I just read that the cast of LITTLE WOMEN is supposed to be on the CBS Early show tomorrow morning at 8:45am.

Apropos of absolutely nothing, I just wanted to mention that it is Tax-free week here in NYS.  Pantaloons and pointy hats notwithstanding, I did need to brush up my wardrobe a bit.  (And they make it so convenient....the Citibank that I frequent shares a parking lot with Syms....)

So, I go into Syms, and about 20 minutes later I walk out with a 100% wool blazer that I don't have to have altered for......

DR Hisaka, I also recommend 42ND STREET...it is one of the most enjoyable 1930s musicals!!

DRJrand, I love THESE THREE! Wonderful, wonderful film!! I wish it would come out on DVD!

I thought SKY CAPTIAIN was an OK, movie...not great... a little dull at times, but I enjoyed the 1940s look to the film. I took my buddy Terry's kids...ages 4, 7, and 11, and they all enjoyed it...I was a bit bored at times, but thought it was beautiful to look at. I am no fan of CGI, but for some reason I thought it worked with this film.

DR Ben - Great brother news.  We have a nephew who's an Air Force helicopter pilot, still stateside, but who has warned his parents that he could be "flying over sand" anytime.
