Larry Clinton, yes!
Okay, Elmore is right. Pie ain't easy to come by here in NYC. Leastways, not on the upper west side. Especially as upper as I am. I go out to the only decent diner up here and ate and then they say they have no pies, just cheesecakes and other cakes. So we go walking and see a place labelled BAKERY. But it is a Dominican place and the employee didn't understand what "pie" was, so she called her co-worker who said, "Apple Pie?" And I said, sure. So she grabbed this wedge-like thing. A flaky pastry wedge with apple-y material within. Kind of like a giant strudel. Only a dollar for it. And you had to eat a lot of the pastry to get to the filling. Not bad, but it just didn't feel like pie to me. Does it count as pie if the employee sold it to me as pie??
