DR Jeanne I enjoyed reading your show report :)

I did, too. Really looking forward to that CD, which I guess will arrive after my trip.

Tomorrow I sit down to learn the next concert’s music. First rehearsal on Tuesday. Includes a
Jason Robert Brown piece. Better get cracking.

(I didn’t play tonight’s concert, just the church service this morning.)

Matinee, as has been the case for the past three weeks, was not as good as the previous two performances - I'm trying to figure out how this company could every play an eight show week.  It wasn't bad, it was, in fact fine, but flubbed lyrics twice by a performer who just can't do more than two shows in a row without messing up the lyrics and it's very frustrating because said performer makes mis-rhymes and people never blame the actor because they don't know the lyrics.  And the performer blames everything under the sun (usually the track volume - which has been the same all weekend) save for the one person the performer should blame - themselves.  Peyton was actually great today - one of her best shows - not a note did I have for her.  Some others did great, for others the energy was a bit off from how I like it, but the show thankfully moves like a machine in terms of pacing, so I don't think most notice it, and it was a very full house and a good audience to boot, and had the show been as sharp as Friday and Saturday they would have had the audience eating out of their hands.

I'm sorry, BK. Must be frustrating.

Watching Four Weddings and a Funeral for the first time in more than 10 years. I loved this movie when it came out. And I am enjoying most of it again. Except ...

Well, except for Hugh Grant's hair, which seems to have a life of its own -- and not a very good life at that.

Watched a nice documentary on the Flix of Net - about Harold and Lillian Michelson - two very important behind-the-scenes film people.  I also prepped everything for our announcements tonight.

Speaking of cigars, I am amazed how many people think I am smoking an actual cigar during the show.

Even Tracy, who knows I quit smoking 24 years ago, thought for sure I was actually smoking.

During the curtain call, we go some whistles, some shouts of “Bravo”, and even a few people gave us a standing ovation.

Now, of course, I know the show was not suddenly a major hit, but it was still nice to get the audience response.

PBS has a Carpenters special on right now.  I had forgotten how much I loved her voice.

I am home from City Vet.  I will pick Annabelle up at 4:00.  This was not the day I had anticipated.

Oh, no!

They just mentioned how her critics dismissed her for being a vanilla piece of fluff.

My niece's cat, Oz, ate a very wide ribbon and had to have it surgically removed...for $1700!
