Matinee, as has been the case for the past three weeks, was not as good as the previous two performances - I'm trying to figure out how this company could every play an eight show week. It wasn't bad, it was, in fact fine, but flubbed lyrics twice by a performer who just can't do more than two shows in a row without messing up the lyrics and it's very frustrating because said performer makes mis-rhymes and people never blame the actor because they don't know the lyrics. And the performer blames everything under the sun (usually the track volume - which has been the same all weekend) save for the one person the performer should blame - themselves. Peyton was actually great today - one of her best shows - not a note did I have for her. Some others did great, for others the energy was a bit off from how I like it, but the show thankfully moves like a machine in terms of pacing, so I don't think most notice it, and it was a very full house and a good audience to boot, and had the show been as sharp as Friday and Saturday they would have had the audience eating out of their hands.
