Sunday morning greetings!  I'd planned to stay home all day today doing Christmas prep, but Rebecca has an extra ticket for a holiday concert and offered it to me.  It's at the Fitton Center in Hamilton, where DR Elmore gave his Sondheim lecture a couple of years ago.  The featured vocalist is Nancy James, whose name might be familiar to DRs Elmore and JRand.

But I’m dressed and almost ready to leave.  By skipping church today I was able to get the piano decorated with our Advent wreath and my angel collection, while listening to the Cincinnati Pops play Christmas music.

And that helps.

I am on the run today. I was up at the crack o' dawn to drive up past Poughkeepsie to play a church service, substituting for a friend. Now I'm home for a bit, but before too long I'll have to head out to the wake for our deceased buddy. And then I'm off again this evening to the same church to hear the first of their two (or is it three?) Christmas concerts.
