One pie is blueberry, which is as close as we can get to Saskatoonberry pie on Long Island.

I love both raspberries and peaches,  but I have never heard of a pie mixing the two.

Back in the 1970s I discovered a Russian composer I really liked named Rodion Shchedrin - I've been reacquainting myself with his wonderful music - I had a couple of CDs of LPs I used to have, but YouTube has tons so I just grabbed all that stuff.

The ShopRite, on the other hand, does not have any self check options at all

Neither does Costco.  When it first opened, the Lacey Costco had a self-check-out aisle, but they didn't keep it for very long.  I would LOVE a 5-items-or-less aisle.  THAT would be helpful at Costco! ;)

I went into work an hour early but the boss man sent us home at 3:30
He also gave each of us two pies from a local farm famous for their fresh pies.

Nice!

Have I posted this tribute to hunks playing nebbishy Seymour?
Jonathan Groff in NYC and George Salazar in Pasadena.
"Stunningly Seymour" https://youtu.be/cHJ4VABe1KU

(Not since DeNiro as Raging Bull.  George Salazar actually gained 5 or 6 pounds to try to look unattractive as Seymour - that's morbidly obese by L.A. standards, isn't it?)

At the stop and shop supermarket you pick up your scanner gun on the way in and you can scan and bag as you’re going through the aisles.

Fred Meyer has something like that as well.  I have never used it.

I chose two fruit pies because I know there will be a pumpkin and a chocolate pudding pie at my SILs tomorrow

He has a large selection of flavors to choose from.

I like peach but not raspberry.  Maybe the combination will help the raspberry flavor ;)

About Saskatoon Berries - Saskatoon Berry Institute
saskatoonberryinstitute.org › saskatoons
May 14, 2013 - Saskatoon berries (Amelanchier alnifolia) look much like blueberries, though they are more closely related to the apple family. Many would describe the taste of saskatoon as having a sweet, nutty almond flavor. They are also high in fiber, protein and antioxidants. Berries ripen in late June or early July.

I was ok with raspberries, kind of good take them or leave them.

Our first summer in Ashland we picked a lot of raspberries from our bushes.  Even freshly picked I didn't want many, and then I didn't want any.  The bushes had little thorns that caused a mild reaction on my skin when they pricked me.  Wild blackberries have thorns but I never had the same kind of reaction to them.

I discovered our marionberry bushes, which were without thorns, were far produced fruit far more flavorable than the wild blackberries.  I never tired of eating those, especially freshly picked.
