So which on which network should we warch the Macy’s parade tomorrow?

I usually watch NBC's broadcast, but record both NBC and CBS.  And I usually make my own DVD of just the musical numbers that I like...but especially the musical theater songs. :)

At the stop and shop supermarket you pick up your scanner gun on the way in and you can scan and bag as you’re going through the aisles.

Fred Meyer has something like that as well.  I have never used it.

The Lacey/Tumwater Fred Meyers don't have scanner guns that you take with you...at least, not yet.

I don't know exactly how it works.  I think you pick up a bag to put items into and also have a scanner.

Keith had an eye check today. While he was there he picked up my contact order.  When I opened it I was surprised that the boxes were labeled right & left eyes.  Since my last check-up I have been wearing the same script in both eyes.  It is very convenient not to have them the same.

Sure enough, on close inspection the two boxes are not the same script.

I spoke to a new person there who kept telling me my order is correct.  She at least had the sense to say she will speak to the doctor and call me back.

Fortunately one of the boxes is correct so I am fine for a good while.

Maybe you haven't noticed.  Also it says you can scan with your phone.  https://www.fredmeyer.com/i/ways-to-shop/scan-bag-go

I really don't want to do that, and I expect it is a pain if you change your mind about an item after scanning it.

As I expected the contact confusion has been straightened out.  She was very nice about it all as everyone at the office normally is.  If the weather was nice I wouldn't even mind the extra trip to trade out the contacts because the walk home is always enjoyable.

Darn, I just noticed a different problem with my contacts making both boxes incorrect.  Now I only have 9 days of contacts left.

I discovered our marionberry bushes, which were without thorns, were far produced fruit far more flavorable than the wild blackberries.  I never tired of eating those, especially freshly picked.

As far as I know I have never had a marionberry

A few years ago my county passed a law that stores must charge 5 cents for every plastic bag they give you.  Virtually everyone now carries reusable bags .

No you simply press the delete button and scan it again.  It's very useful when checking prices

It really makes things very convenient, particularly when you have frozen items.  I use insulated shopping bags and hose my frozen stuff last.   Oments after I am done shopping I can be out of the store because there are 14 registers just for scanner shopping check out and since nothing has to be rung up it's very fast .

Also there are no hold ups because people are arguing over the price of something, all coupons are pre entered, and there is no sticker shock at the register because the screen keeps a running total for you.

Interesting.  I've never noticed any scanners, nor have I seen anyone using any, but I'm going again tonight, so I'll look more carefully.

Here in Thurston County, they essentially outlawed plastic bags, but now everyone charges 5¢ for the big paper bags.  Why are they charging for paper bags when no one ever charged for either paper OR plastic bags before??

Well, I need to get to Fred Meyer for some more cream cheese, and to see if anyone is using scanners.

Be back later.

Had a spicy Eyetalian Subway for lunch, picked up some packages, including a DGA screener of Booksmart.

I'll be interested in hearing what you think of Booksmart.

I love both raspberries and peaches,  but I have never heard of a pie mixing the two.

I like peach but not raspberry.  Maybe the combination will help the raspberry flavor ;)

I love raspberries

I love raspberries, too, but not in pie unless they're with something. Like peaches or cherries.

So, I didn't notice anyone using scanners, nor did I see any place to get them, nor did I notice anyone scanning anything with their own phones...not that it wasn't happening, but I just didn't see anyone. :-\

My only concern is that it'll turn out to be more fluffy-cakey than a dense-type cheesecake, which is much preferred.
