ChasSmith, that production won’t be zoomed, will it?

No, but wouldn't that have been fun?

And these people play by the rules. Unless they contracted with Music Theatre International for the rights to do that, you can "bet your bottom dollar" that nothing of theirs will see the light of day on the internet. They don't let an archival recording out, either. They usually tape one show, and sometimes -- maybe -- the cast and crew will be invited to see it. Once. And then it goes back into the vault.

On the performance front - I have just been offered the part of Mr. Fezziwig in the DePauw ZOOM production of A Christmas Carol....and also the part of one of the solicitors who come in at the beginning to request that Mr Scrooge donate some money.....

That will be fun.....I am sure.

That's great!  The Fezziwigs are a great couple!

DR singdaw, how many days will you be in hospital? I think your operation is similar to mine, and I was disnussed in the third day.

Back from picking up some packages and the arrival of a helpful envelope, and then a good lunch meeting at Casa Vega - two beef tacos and a few chips - 600 calories.

Listening to Mr. Orff's Cutilli Carmina with Ormandy and some fine singers.  It's not the Carmina, musically, but interesting.  Orff was really an interesting composer.

We have already been dropping today, from hazardous (not beyond index) to very unhealthy, and just now to unhealthy.  I have hoping they won't go up again before the storms arrive.

Had no idea the the Catulli Carmina was not really an orchestral work like its predecessor - the band only plays in the first and last movements, I think, otherwise it's all a cappella, not my favorite thing, I have to say.  But I enjoyed it and I guess I'll see out the final part of the trilogy.

Listening to Bartok's Bluebeard's Castle, which I must say I'm really enjoying a LOT.

Just read that Tony Tanner died - we had him in a Kritzerland show - weird guy but fun.

I fell in love with  eight-year-old BJ last month when he entered the Staten Island ACC.  He weighed too much for the size of my apartment and I couldn't walk him so it was a no-go.  This afternoon the ACC murdered him, and it really hurts.

The people on these animal rescue sites are full of misinformation: I just learned that BJ was rescued and did not die today, although I was told ear;ier around 3:45 that he was murdered.  I don't know what the truth is now.

Tanner once sacked an actor friend of mine from a show for not putting out.

Finished Bluebeard's Castle, which is a stunning piece in a stunning performance.  Grab it while you can.  Now playing the Dvorak Requiem, which I'm greatly enjoying in a brilliant-sounding performance by a favorite conductor, Istvan Kertesz.

I should probably know Tony Tanner from more than this, but I always think first of that filmed Stop the World.

BK is hearing some fine music. Now I want to get into Bluebeard’s Castle. I really only listened to the piece several times back in the late ‘80s, early ‘90s. I’ve got the Ormandy. I’m also wondering if I taped the Met production off the air back around then.

That's probably the only thing I know him from, too.

I was a little put off, too, when I first listened to Catulli Carmina, and I’ve never given it the proper chance to grow on me.

But what a pair of Ormandy recordings. Another wonderful set is Jochum’s on Deutsche Grammophone. He also covered the third piece.

I'm sorry about the loss of your friend, Jack. One of the toughest parts of getting older, I think.

This is a bit of a tardy tribute, but can I just say: the Kritzerland Anniversary concert was amazing!

How are we so fortunate to benefit from this labor of love?

Sing, have you watched the others or just the anniversary show?
