Good night, all. May visions of sugar plums dance in your heads.

Finished with my viewing - the other Street Scene DVD that's available - much better production, but the idiot who directed the video itself did everything he could to kill it so it could look like he made a "film."  It's the Houston Grand Opera production by Francesca Zembello - the ideas are fine but clearly has no clew how to actually direct the people.  But it's much better, with a good set and decent singing.  More in the notes.

Now listening to a Berthold Goldschmidt opera called Beatrice Cenci - very attractive so far.

I've also eaten anything that's not nailed down.  Obviously, I didn't eat all of the tuna pasta salad - less than half of that - but the chicken pot pie, the cherry loaf and my eye has been focused on the Bundt cake in the refrigerator.

Keith preferred to watch something we have never seen.

We watched a lot of trailers for what looked like mediocre to bad movies.

Recently we finally began watching The Murdoch Mysteries.   I suggested we skip ahead and watch a Christmas episode.

Too true to be funny. I can only wish this bastard Trump the worst of holidays and that he rot in hell forever.

You're right, Larry...too true to be funny.

DR TCB, in my dream I was walking barefoot on the streets of Manhattan, not in Central Park.

Well, Neal Simon will be sorry that you weren’t Barefoot in the Park.

We had batter-fried fish, mashed potatoes, spiral mac-and-cheese from Costco, some ham and Brussels sprouts for my mom and my sister's boyfriend, and several other options that were all pretty darned good. :)

Tomorrow, we'll go to my sister's house and my niece is insisting that we play Monopoly...she loves the game...so we'll play.

Speaking of chili (ba-dum-bum), the real temperature here right now is -1. Wind chills in the northern part of the state are in the negative 30s.

Yikes! :o

I'm also trying a variety of hot dogs. The first batch a couple of weeks ago were Nathan's skinless. They're good, but I think not quite as wonderful as what they serve at the Nathan's locations. This week it's Hebrew National, which I used to enjoy a lot. Both of these are perfectly fine for this. I'll find a third type to try next time.

You all know I'm a Chicago hot dog fanatic. When I'm making those, I only buy them with a natural casing because that's one of the hallmarks of the Chicago dog. Again, many brands available, but this household's favorite is Sabrett which have wonderful flavor.

I usually buy the Nathan’s Beef hot dogs.  I used to buy Hebrew National, but they always cut off the end.

Oh, my!  I MUST send this to my friend pug!  She's been celebrating Yule for years and this year was the first that she hasn't been able to have everyone over to celebrate!
