I’m trying to go back and read some of the things I’ve missed.  I’m so sorry I’ve been out of it.  It seems like since I’ve come back from vacation it’s been a mad house.  Hopefully, some of the issues are going to be resolved soon and I’ll be back to normal. Whatever THAT is.

Danise, listen very carefully to me.  Never, I repeat, never go back to normal!

Dear TCB, I know I haven’t asked.  How is your neck?  Much better I hope.  Mom is finely coming out of her hurt.  It’s slow going but everyday is just a bit better.

Danise, thank you so much for asking.  You are always so good about asking how others are feeling.  Perhaps you and Nurse Jane should open a clinic together?  Actually, my neck is better, most of the time.  It isn't that I have really recovered; I think I have just gotten used to not moving my nead and neck certain ways.

DR Jose - good moving-day vibes to you!

I must go now and get a good night's sleep to be ready for The Producers tomorrow afternoon.

'night, ALL.

Aaahh....

This was exactly what I needed.  Just to sit down for a little bit and get off my feet.  Feeling much better now.

I really did get a lot done over the past few days - and a lot done today.  And I did it all by myself too.  -People did offer to help  me out, but I really just wanted to get it done on my own.  -That's probably just the Virgo in me.

We've been testing out the new television.  Der Brucer was watching some hi-def films on cable earlier; I've got a small stack of DVDs.  Problem is, when I put on a DVD, der B gets wrapped up in whatever film it is, and the whole idea of going through the stack gets blown.  I was able to get him to stop after a certain point with Goldeneye, but now he's watching Harry Potter 3, as if he's never seen it before.

I hate to tell you, DR SWW, but for a technophile, this is normal and completely understandable behavior. It CERTAINLY makes perfect sense to me!  :D

We're NOT Virgos anymore, DRJOSE, we're GRITS.

Indiana State Legislature = WORST LEGISLATURE IN THE COUNTRY.

Idiots, self-interest - bad toupees - the WORST!!!

And yes, DRJOSE, they have spent hours and hours each session arguing about DST - and it was finally passed this session.  Probably will begin in June.....so many important things left on the table ignored.  And the MAJORITY of people in Indiana didn't WANT DST - but some businesses did.  Who cares?  Half the year we are on New York Time, half the year we are on Chicago time.....what's the big deal?  Idiots....idiots.  And millions of dollars for a NEW stadium for the Colts to play a dozen games in a year - and it's Idiot Owner saying he won't sign a lease because there is MORE to be discussed.....

If I didn't love Indiana, I would hate it here.

Oh, and PLEASE be careful, former Governor and current senator Evan Bayh is thinking about running for President....run from him, folks, RUN AS FAST AS YOU YOU CAN!!!

Congrats on the NEW TV - and yes, as DRMATTH said, it is normal to become involved in a DVD you meant merely to test.

Nice new avatar, Yes, TomovOZ.

No offense meant for DR Tomovoz who I know much champions the lady, but I didn't much care for Geraldine McEwen as Miss Marple. I found her far too precious in the role, too sprightly (despite the injured ankle) in manner, and just not old-ladyish enough to suit my mind's-eye view of Miss Marple.

I really don't know this actress and how old she REALLY is, but she seemed too young to me, and those flashbacks to her younger days and her young man were a complete turn-off.

Actually, I found that VERY ironic. The very first DVD I put in to watch once I had calibrated my new TV was GOLDENEYE!

RE: The review of THE PRODUCERS.

According to SPJ (Society of Professional Journalists) and my journalism classes, ONCE a show has left NYC and is on tour, a reviewer's job is to review THE PRODUCTION ONLY....not the work itself.  The cast/crew/director are NOT creating a new show, but working with already conceived and SET elements.  If a show is still being worked on, or is still being created, it is written about differently.

One exception MIGHT BE - the first time a production comes to a certain city - but even then the emphasis should be on the current production.  A revival or revisal passing through can be treated as a new production.

The first show I did in Charlotte when I moved here (1981) was a production of HOW TO SUCCEED IN BUSINESS, and the drama critic who reviewed us was a woman's libber who loathed the depictuon of women in the show (totally ignoring the fact that the show was a satire of business practices set in the early 1960s).

The writer gave one short paragraph in her entire review to mentioning performances, direction, and choreography, and she spent the rest of the review trashing the book and score of this Pulitzer Prize-Tony winning musical.

I think that's when I stopped reading reviews of shows I was in.

Tomorrow I have the rest of ASSASSINS to watch but what DVD will come off the shelf next is anybody's guess. I guess I'll just make that decision tomorrow. LADY IN A CAGE finally arrived today, but I'm not sure I'll be in the mood for it tomorrow.

Really loved ADVISE AND CONSENT and BAD DAY AT BLACK ROCK. I look forward to adding both of them to my collection (and ditched that horrendous pan and scan videotape of A&C).

Poor Anne Francis in BAD DAY AT BLACK ROCK....poor girl.  And Spencer doesn't seem to mind too much what happened to her character.

JRand54, I watched CHOOSE YOUR SIDE...cute show! Space Patrol against the Bronco Busters! LOL!

And Peter Lawford was the mystery guest on WHAT'S MY LINE...golly, he just makes me swoon! How is it that in all my 40 years I have never noticed Peter Lawford before...guess it is because he never made movies at A.I.P!

Worked most of the day in my yard...mowing the lawn...pulling leaves...cleaning out the gutters...planting plants...chatting up my hunky across-the-street-neighbor...I think I am exhausted now.

So many of our local reviewers spend two-thirds of their reviews complaining about things in the show, that as you pointed out, DR JRand, are beyond the control of the theater doing the production

In January, when I did NATIONAL PASTIME, which is a play about breaking the color barrier in baseball; one of the local reviewers complained because the show did not address the race riots of the 90s?  SAY WHAT?

Soon I shall have EmergenC number three, and then a steaming shower.  I think I'm succeeding in my head trip battles.  I said enough is enough and enough is enough and damn it all to hell and back enough will be enough.

I hadn't written anything all day, so I went on a writing jag for an hour this evening and did three pages (all dialogue - like doing ten book pages).  I am getting to a point in the play where there will actually be some action happening on the stage - those pages will go quicker, especially in the Final Draft playscript program where the action description is basically in the middle of the page in a very small margin.

Just notice there was a spelling error.
