Lee Remick, gosh what what a looker. Though there is a slight image distortion that made her look to me like Valerie Harper in that shot.

Ben, we (the Vixmom Trio), have requested places for A Little of What You Fancy on 5/14

Jack, Mr. Vixmom is freshening up his mutton chops (yes he really does wear'em these days)  just in case of a frantic call from the stage for replacements

DR WFO - and to think of all the money I wasted on lessons.  All I needed was that DVD!

CD at Home:  Tom Wopat "The Still of the Night"  Love his treatment of these songs.  He isn't as cute as Barrowman though.  More like what we "Crusade" fans call "rugged good looks".

Here his is duking it around at a somewhat earlier age:

Actually, I prefer the older Mr. Wopat!

No, I believe that's Barrowman's mother that joins him on that track.  Very nice lady; der B and I met her the night we saw him in Putting It Together at the Taper in LA.

Incidentally, Barrowman is now part of the Whoniverse.  He's listed as playing Captain Jack Harkness in the eighth thru thirteenth episodes of the current season of Doctor Who, with no word yet as to whether his character will continue into the next season (probably in order to eliminate spoilers).

And he will also appear in the film of melom by Brooks musical "Prodyusery", singing solo tenor in "Springtime for Hitler".

And speaking of Brooks, I should note that Bruce, as Brooks, not only wrote outstanding scenario and he became the to- director of picture, but also magnificently played the role "of director -devstvennika" John smiti (surname Smithee it must much say to amateurs and experts of cinematography...;)), and it also wrote entire music and songs to the picture (here already truly - man of many-sided talents),!

Good Afternoon!

Back from running my errand. Which turned into two.  I also happened to run into one of my old profs in the parking lot of the grocery store. A nice mini-reunion.

And now I must attend to some stuff here at Chez Steve...

DR JRand - I wish the weather was lovely here right now.  Very gray, on the brink of rain, and cool.  In other words, a good afternoon to get some work done inside, instead of wandering aimlessly outside.

And I have to say that this week has truly flown by!  Can't believe I already have two shows tomorrow, Saturday.

You know, until I read this review I had had no idea that Bruce had ever played Brooks

DRJOSE - I must say that the more I think about MAMMA MIA!, the more I like the show.  AND a big reason for that is your cast....what a great ensemble.  It was just so much fun - they were a treat to watch!

Sorry about the weather there....but if it's nice here....good weather is headed for DRGINNY and you!

Oh yes.  It is necessary to give credit to the talent of Bruce kimmel - in fact, it only extended on itself entire picture, and it boldly it is possible to compare with another young gift of that time.

Yes, Vixmom, even though they have a Web site, Theatre 1010 does not take full advantage of that technological wonder. They do respond to e-mail from the site but they don't do much updating. I think the pictures at the site are from 2001 and 2002.

BK, my problem with poker these days, it's become so damned hip and all these silly stations actually have TV shows devoted to it.  And it seems all they play is Texas Hold'em which I hadn't ever heard of until the last time I played at a friend's about a year ago.  Me, I remember 5 and 7 -card stud and draw, Tennessee Walker (or Mexican Sweat), Spit-in-the-Ocean, etc.

How's your trivial pursuit beyond show biz categories?

I'm curious, if you are male does it say YOU ARE LIKE EDIE, or does it just say she is your match? :)

It said I am Susan (who is actually my favorite Desperate Housewife).

It says I'm a match for Edie.  Hence, the reason I wrote "it said I'm a match for Edie."  ;)

For some reason I am imagining a Trivial Pursuit game among DR CP, MR BK, Harlan Ellison, and June Wilkinson.....and if I ever knew anything, I wouldn't be able to remember it anyway.

Back to the TOD:  I just put on my recently aquired "Disertation on the State of Bliss:  tom Wopat sings Harold Arlen".  A surprise it was to discover it was produced by Ben Sidran, who was in my class on "The Philosophy of Mathematics" in 1966 my first yearof graduate school, back before Joey was born.

The class was a bit of a bust.  The teacher was less interested in the subject matter than in his jazz band, of which Ben was a member, and we never got past the first chapter of Frege.  I remember that Ben's answer to any question about the nature of numbers was, "There is the One.  There is only the One."

I realize that he has become a somewhat successful jazz musician since, but I've never actually heard any of his music.

Ben Sidran now:

Ben a few years after UW, with a much-villified-of-late celebrity  (not Paula Abdul):
