Back to the TOD: I just put on my recently aquired "Disertation on the State of Bliss: tom Wopat sings Harold Arlen". A surprise it was to discover it was produced by Ben Sidran, who was in my class on "The Philosophy of Mathematics" in 1966 my first yearof graduate school, back before Joey was born.
The class was a bit of a bust. The teacher was less interested in the subject matter than in his jazz band, of which Ben was a member, and we never got past the first chapter of Frege. I remember that Ben's answer to any question about the nature of numbers was, "There is the One. There is only the One."
I realize that he has become a somewhat successful jazz musician since, but I've never actually heard any of his music.
