This time tomorrow, I shall be on the verge of being eyeglass-free for the first time in 60-plus years! I get cataract surgery on my left eye, and I can hardly wait!
Actually, I have been functioning without my glasses since the second day of my first surgery except when i want to read something in regular print or smaller (like pill bottles and cooking instructions on frozen foods).
I expect I may need to own a pair of reading glasses regardless of my improved eyesight, but it won't be a daily thing. The doctor said I wouldn't have the sharp vision I had as a teenager, but I corrected him by saying I never had sharp vision as a teen!! Still, I am paying (almost through the nose) for the best lens they have in order to live glasses-free, including when I read books, etc.
