I've just learnt that French actor/singer Lambert Wilson (Remember; DR Jose is President of his US fanclub! - He's gonna "hate" me for that!) has tried for years to produce a French version of SUNDAY IN THE PARK but finally gave up.... because Mr Sondheim asks for prohibitive amounts of money!

(Money, Money, Money... Monet? No! It is Seurat! :D)

I would LOVE to hear a French version of Sunday....  I have a CD by Lambert Wilson and it's not too bad.  He does several Sondheim songs on it, if I remember correctly.

DR François:  I quite like the way Mr Lambert Wilson finishes his hat.

DR Jennifer, my local newspaper said the episode of IN JUSTICE tonight was a repeat of the pilot episode that was shown last week. Don't know if that's accurate, but that's what the paper said.

Bk, re: the Adelphia thing.  It's apparently their national policy.  Supposedly so if they have to get in on someone's computer and work on it, they can.  A woman at the local office here (where I paid a visit in person) said you'd be surprised as to how many people don't remember their information.  That still doesn't explain why it needs to be emblazoned on every work order.  Anyway, she was very nice and gave me the name and number of her supervisor who she said would help me locate who I can write to at the national office and explain that this isn't a particularly good policy for security reasons.  It seems to me one is only one disgruntled employee away who could take a sheaf of such forms and start an identity theft disaster.  Just another reason I never put my credit card over the internet.

Just returned from BROKEBACK MOUNTAIN, an achingly poignant and devastatingly sad film that will be with me for awhile. Beautifully shot and acted and sparsely written, it is quite something.

The theater was full, perhaps a few scattered seats here and there, but a sign was up that both the early evening shows were already sold out.

Both newspaper critics here have given it four stars (out of four).

I agree with the rants I've heard so far. Some projects might lend themselves to a little line flexibility, but when the director and author of the piece tells you up front that he wants it as written, then learn your daggone lines.

That's just the basics of being an actor. Learning lines. It's like a plumber who wants to do his job without tools. Ain't gonna work.

The sad thing is, BK, to paraphrase Tim Gunn, you can't win if you want the guy to succeed more than he does. Vibes that he pulls his sh** together before opening night.

Did anyone else notice that Rodzinski just paraphrased Tim from Project Runway?? I feel so proud!

Which of the nuns was Guadalupe? I remember so little about the SoM. Was she a liability (and not an asset) to the Abbey before Maria?

Marla is a joke. Barely knows how to sew! Guadalupe was at least creative.

Spoiler

Totally.  I predict that Marla will be out next week.  She probably would have been had it not been for the fact that Guadalupe's dress was so god awful ugly.

I've been here.  I've been there.  And I've been to another there.

Whew!

-This day turned out to be busier than expected, but in a good way at least.

And now...

...And then I found out that I may be playing for a special performance at the Kennedy Center on Monday...  It may end up falling-through - I'll find out later tonight - but it was nice to get the call.

And now I have to get ready to head in for the show.  It's "Out Night" at Arena which is their Gay/Lesbian/Bisexual/Transgender/etc. night.  It's one of their special subscription series.  Normally, there is a group of about 25-30 people that are there for Out Night, but this time round we have a big group from the Gay Men's Chorus of Washington, some local groups as well as the usual subscribers.  Should be a lively house - especially during the second locker room scene.  ;)  -And then there's a meet-the-cast reception afterwards - which usually has some very good food and drink.

And, as 'luck' would have it, I have a bunch of friends coming to tonight's performance too.  Fun, fun, fun.

*Btw, "Out Night" is also unofficially known backstage as "Date Night".

It seems that everyone suddenly woke up this morning realized the holidays were over, and,  by gosh, by golly its already Friday! The phones that have been quiet all week were absolutely crazy today and  all those people who were holding off on closing until after the holdays suddenly all want to close on the same day next week..... :P

Ah well... better than boredom... or unemployment!  ;)

Well last few things to finish and then I'm outta here!!!

 :D
Hope to see you all online over the weekend and

continued ~~~~~VIBES~~~~ health vibes,  play vibes, lovely trip vibes, great playiong opportunity vibes

to all!!!

What Kennedy Center performance? Maybe I'm doing the program!

From what I understand, it's some "command performance" for a visiting dignitary.  -So, I'm guessing there's no program/Playbill involved.

Film at 11:00...

Gee, Jose!

You say "meet-the-cast reception" and all you think about is food and drinks!

Of course, TCB would say that it all depends on the way one spells "meet"!! :o :o :-X :-X

While I prepared my dinner, I watched a thirty minute show off one of the ESPN channels recapping the Nancy Kerrigan/Tony Harding scandal in 1994. Know the details like the back of my hand, but the story is still mesmerizing to watch unfold. Better than any soap opera ever.
