I finished the afternoon with more of THE GREEN PASTURES. This has been on the DVR for a week and I need to finish it and clear it off, but I didn't get to the end yet.

I thought "Will and Grace" was fun last night.  Not the best but much better than recent shows.  Very touching scene in the "nursery" at Karen's manse.

Who knew?

And with this being the final season, who knows....????

I watched "Four Kings" last night for the second -- and FINAL -- time.  The guy who owns the apartment is a fool for letting those three morons live with him.

Two of the morons would best serve mankind by offing one another.  Seth Green's character is a putz and totally without redeeming values.

From your lips to God's ears....an unending drama, this film in your DVR...unfinished!

David Ives One Act Play in his collection ALL IN THE TIMING....called "Philip Glass Buys a Loaf of Bread" is hilarious.

That WHOLE series of scenes is great!  I directed "The Philadelphia" - but the title play, "Words, Words, Words" (about monkeys typing HAMLET) and "The Universal Language" are my favorite three!!!

I know David Ives.  He's a lovely gentleman, and I like his work, too.

DANCING WITH THE STARS had another big night in the ratings last night, but CRUMBS fell off from its premiere rating of last week.

Of course, as always CSI won the night with the highest rating, but it was on the low end of its seasonal ratings opposite the popular DANCING and a new episode of MY NAME IS EARL.

Good Afternoon!

Well... I ran for one hour straight.  -And, best of all, I didn't realize I had run an hour until I looked at my watch... At the end of the hour.

I started at the Jefferson Memorial... Up to the Lincoln Memorial... Around the Reflecting Pool... Past the Washington Monument... Along the Madison Street Side of The Mall... Turned around at the Capitol... Back down the other side of the Mall (Jefferson Street)... Took a left turn at the Washington Monument... And then back to the Jefferson Memorial...

Whew!

It was F-ing Amazing!  I hit that fabled runner's high as I was circling the Mall and knew that my finish line was in sight.  Needless to say, I was/am very proud of myself.  And I actually felt like I could have gone another half hour or so.

*My "rule" was that I was only going to look at my watch when I got to the point where I felt truly tired... Well...

:)

And distance-wise... I think I did about five and half miles... maybe even a little more than that since I took some detours along the way to check out some of the Memorials.

And now...

...I'm actually feeling pretty good.  Not sore, not fatigued.  Actually kind of refreshed.

*And I treated myself to Jamba Juice on the way back too, that always helps.

However, I am prepared to be a little achy tomorrow morning... But that is supposed to happen.  Or not.  We shall see.

If you saw WICKED before it opened in New York, you heard the original orchestrations.  Mr Schwartz supervised a lot of reworking by keyboard men in New York.

And the keyboard books for the tour were revised yet again... For the better, thankfully.

*I do have to say - and I'm not the only one who says this - that Bill Brohn keyboard parts are not so "pianistic".  The books for Ragtime when they're not playing the Stephen Flaherty's piano parts are quite "thick".

And the orchestrations for Lestat are being handled by Elton John's own "orchestrator", Guy Babylon with an assist by Steve Margoshes.  Guy has been the keyboard player for Elton John's band for many years.  From what I've seen, they're very well-written, "practical" parts.

CD:  I listened  the Philip Glass opera " AKHNATEN" the other day. I just don't "get" Glass.  Pretentious and repetitive twaddle!

Then I'm sure the LA theater critics would LOVE it.

During the week, I think anytime - although they might have to go around to the side door and up to the offices.

Weekends, no one is there until six.

You're safe any time at six as that's when our house manager arrives.

Today is DeForest Kelley's birthday.  He would have been 86 years old.  It's also David Lynch's birthday.  He turns 60 today.

I refuse to bustle.  It is Saturday here so bustling would be unseemly.
I think everyone is listening to Philip Glass and having a simply smashing time.

We don't need no stinking quiet!  Let's heat up the jernt!  Let's do the Lambada (The Forbidden Dance)!  We need FUN, after all this critical bombardment.  I shall now shower and wash away all the mud that's been flung and then I shall feel all clean and shiny and shall then be on my way to the El Portal Theater.
