Why would anyone ask a musical question when Tomovoz is in the room?

THANK you!  Absolutely no one else was around when it was asked...except the one person here who could answer it in a second.

Shortly I shall be on my way to the theater for tonight's performance, our first since Sunday.  Pray for Rosemary's Baby.

I have a question for those with TV tech experience....what is the difference between an HD tv and a plasma tv. Is it good enought simply to get a plasma tv?

Most of the stuff that I watch is pre-1970, so I wouldn't guess it would matter much as far as HD tv goes...or am I wrong?

Considering what you usually watch, it probably wouldn't have to be a color set either.

I shall also be off to the theatre later tonight, to see the final dress rehearsal for a local Ain't Misbehavin'.

Re: Commander In Chief

I am also disappointed that the show will not be renewed. I rather enjoyed it.

I don't believe that it hasn't been renewed (not decided yet). So far all I"ve heard is that it will be seen in Feb, not in march, and will return in april.

Re: Veronica Mars

I have never heard of this show. I am curious....

I think season one is out on dvd.

I highly recommend this show. Although it is on UPN so you may not get it.

It stars Kristen Bell as Veronica Mars.  She is an 18ish high school student who is basically a Nancy Drew type.  It's sort of the OC meets Murder She Wrote.

Veronica solves mysteries around her school. But it's more than that.  The show is critically acclaimed by many.  And it is very smartly written.  You have to think hard while watching because not everything is spelled out.  This was especially evident last week, when you had to use your brain to figure out what was happening.

I don't get UPN but my sis tapes it for me every week.  So I don't get to watch it till the weekend.  But if you can get your hand on the season one dvd, try it.  It's really good.

Wonderful carrot cake with icing of cream cheese, butter and sugar and little cream cheese, butter and sugar carrots (colored orange) and little cream cheesegreen, butter and sugar shoots on the carrots (colored green).

All in all it's been a lovely day and evening. Thank you all for the good wishes and for now, good night.

Re: tonight's Survivor (no spoilers till tomorrow after everyone here has watched).

I really enjoyed it.  They made it much easier to get to know the people (by the way the tribes were divided).

There are a few people I really like. Three of the four young girls (i will go through them tomorrow).  There are also a few i don't care for.  And some who are totally stupid.

Interesting twist re: exile island (which i will talk about tomorrow).

And I'm very surprised that Caleb Carr's THE ALIENIST has never been filmed.  One would think that this would be a filmmaker's dream, with its turn of the century atmospheric setting and its mystery/thriller plot.  At the time I first read it, I pictured Judd Hirsch as the psycholigist/detective.  I'm not immediately sure who I would cast today.  Dare I say Mandy Patinkin?

Your're right, why no movie yet?? I have to think on the casting, but I think you may be on to something.

Last night's PWOJECT WUNWAY was interesting.

One of those dumb challenges - make a dress out of flowers and plants - but some worthy projects and an appropriate elimination.  I would have chosen a different WINNER, though.

I wonder if your choice of winner would have matched mine...

Back from my second visit with the shrink. I got a lot of things out. It was good. I cried just a tad, but other than that, no breakdowns.

No breakdowns, that is, until she handed me the bill for my initial consultation! Apparently she forgot that I'm covered by my insurance so that I only have to pay $25 per visit. She tried to charge me 50% of the initial consulation, which was $220! I'm in the wrong business....

And I'm getting into the right one!!

Only joking, it will be YEARS before I am legally able to go into private practice, and many more until I am experientially qualified to do so.  But I'm glad to hear that you are finding it to be a worthwhile experience.

Does TPunk generally acquire these delightful viruses after they've run their course with you?

Up until a few hours ago, I would have said no.  But even in the last hour that I have been catching up on posts, my health has taken a turn for the worse.  Rodzinski will confirm that I almost NEVER get sick.  In the fall I had a medium cold that lasted a few days and I struggled against when I should have had the sense to stay home.  I had a new year's flu/virus that I now attribute to his family (who admittedly brought something with them from Ohio) and now I have a super runny nose and sore throat, I'm guessing courtesy of Rodzinski.  Crapballs!!

And I officially have a bad cold.  One upside is that this may be an opportunity to follow Rodzinski's soup diet/weight loss plan.

Prior to falling ill, I had a delightful small dinner with a former mouse co-worker.  She caught me up on all of the office gossip, but more than anything it was nice to see her again.  I do miss some of the folks from the old days.

Plasmas come in two flavors: EDTV and HDTV. The enhanced display TVs have picture comparable in sharpness to a DVD. HDTV is about double that resolution.

HDTVs of varying kinds and sizes are actually less expensive than plasmas right now.

But you might as well buy for the future when you do decide to buy which means a widescreen set with HDTV-capable picture.
