My dinner party for tonight just shrunk by 2, because my sister and her husband decided to stop at my mom's, pick up their car, and keep going home to Michigan.  I think they're driving into the worst of the snowstorm, at its height, but who asked me - I'm just the baby sister.  Oh, well, my DN Laura is staying until tomorrow, so will transport the other guests and we'll have a good dinner and a fine time.

DR Matthew, I would have had zero interest in THE WOMAN IN WHITE, but knowing what a great fan of ALW you are, I'm very sorry you aren't going to get to experience it. The article did suggest a US national tour, so maybe you will get a chance to see it.

I mean, if LITTLE WOMEN can tour, . . . .

Thanks DR, MattH for your thoughts!!!  I've been spending time this morning trying to figure out a whirlwind trip to NYC to see the show. A red-eye flight, 2 shows on a Saturday, back to the airport and home on Sunday.  Sorta like doing a "Jose"

I didn't see the plans for the tour part of the article, so maybe I'll just wait around, or... maybe not...

Hmmm.... DR GEORGE, try unplugging your scanner from the power source and then plugging it back in.  ALSO remove all the photos you may have in your album.

If that doesn't work, and you have the DISK, just re-install your driver, but unplugging it should work.

On Thursday, I actually tried all of this but none seemed to work.  But today (I figured it wouldn't hurt to try everything again since you were kind enough to suggest these things) I decided to uninstall everything and reinstall as if I had just gotten the scanner.  In other words, when I uninstalled all the software, I unplugged the scanner (and left it unplugged) and restarted my computer.  I then installed the software then completely shut down the computer.  Then I plugged in the scanner and turned on the computer, and it automatically continued the install and it all works again!  Yea!

And to prove it, here's the CD that I got signed last night (even though I didn't get to meet them):

I just heard that both Al Lewis and Betty Friedan have died.

Sad but I am not surprised. Betty Friedan has been ill for a while with Cancer I think. Al Lewis was in his late 80s I believe.

Lucky you George...

I have always liked the Pointer Sisters and the music from Ain't Misbehavin'. I will have to see if the CD is available at the nearby record shop. I am leary of buying things on-line.

One of the colleges nearby is putting that on this spring... I sat in one of the rehearsals and it seemed to be coming together....
