Well, you've read the notes, the notes rose, and now it is time for you to post until the rising cows come home.
-
And the word of the day is: SPOONERISM!
-
First post after BK!
-
I've been working on louderizing three tracks for Bunbury. They were too soft and the program can't raise the volume too much, just bring it down to absolute quiet. Now, those are done and the program will have much more wiggle room for the volume control. :)
-
I'll replace the original tracks when I go to the theater today. I'm actually going in early so that the director and I can add all the preshow and intermission music. THEN, it should all be done...hopefully!
-
And now, I need to get to sleep!
Have a good day, all!
-
Good morning, all!
-
It was so cold last night that around 9:15 I piled the blankets onto the bed, and by 9:30 the lights were out. Annabelle and I spent the night buried under the blankets while Thatch slept on top of the comforter. I folded a corner of that down to cover him so he was sheltered from the breezes. It's currently 20 degrees F outside.
-
Good morning, all.
-
Yesterday I only went out for five minutes to retrieve the trash cans and the mail. I knew to bundle up, but I still froze my ASS off. I’ve certainly been in much lower temperatures. And there wasn’t even any wind. But somehow this week’s twenties are just brutal.
-
I'm going to spend some part of today laying out the scores for this Viennese operetta medley. All three songs are written in the key of G and 3/4 waltz tempo, so I've got to think about getting variation into this medley.
-
Today I must drive down to Cat Clinic to pick up Poe’s prescription food. While out, I might as well stop at a market for a couple of things. Other than that, my time shall be spent on A Chorus Line.
-
One irritating repeating dream this morning. The night before there had been a more substantial one involving Porgy and Bess. And so it goes.
-
Never did get around to scaring up any New Orleans-ish food this week. And this year our store didn’t get in any King Cakes. Well, it happens. Oh yes. These things happen.
-
Glad to hear the revue is proceeding splendidly.
-
Nice pictures, vixmom.

T.O.D.
I love ice cream, particularly the various ones that include some for of chocolate.
My father was a big fan of Rocky Road. He'd buy a gallon, then hide it at the bottom of our large freezer, so nobody else would eat it.
Didn't work!
:D
-
Going to the dentist today for a teeth cleaning.
:(
-
Okay, I’ve had a cup of coffee and now it’s time to feed these monsters.
-
Ah yes, the T.O.D.
Vanilla. Vanilla. Vanilla. In approximately that order. I also love chocolate, strawberry, coffee, green tea, pistachio, and many others. But a good quality vanilla is what I judge anyone’s ice cream by, and it’s such a favorite that when I indulge in a milkshake or soda, I never seriously consider any other flavor.
-
Cats are fed. I am a free man till about three this afternoon.
As if. The begging commences at two, sometimes before. For now...
More coffee!
-
TOD
Turkey Hill Tin Roof Sundae
Ben and Jerry's Cherry Garcia
Breyers French Vanilla
Breyers Coffee
Friendlys Cappucino chip
-
There really are too many ice creams to rank. Cherry Garcia is fabulous, as is the non-dairy version I had literally by accident, made with almond milk. It was almost more creamy and delicious than the original.

Everyone knows sleep is important, but most of the articles I see on how to sleep better seem to assume that their suggestions are all doable. What if you have noisy neighbors? What if you live in an apartment and can't control your environment that much? Ugh!
DR Vixmom answered:

DR Jeanne have you ever tried a white noise machine? I am obsessed with mine and put it on when i read or sleep. It blocks out all other noise and is just amazing.

Baskin Robin's peanut butter and chocolate
Baskin Robin's Jamoca almond fudge
Ben and Jerry's Chubby Hubby
Ben and Jerry's New York Super Fudge Chunk

Thursday morning greetings! Another no commitment day for me, but we do have to go to the grocery along with everybody else who's expecting a snowstorm tonight.
-
TOD - Graeter's Toffee Chip. They had a special flavor for February - Cherry Chocolate Chip - which was pretty fabulous and reminded me of Cherry Garcia.
-
Both cats are acting particularly rambunctiously today. I've cleaned up a mess Annabelle created and another mess Thatch is responsible for.
-
Good morning, all.
-
Vibes for TCB.
-
Good to see you, Amy.
-
Two!

TOD:
Whatever is before me.
I’ve been liking peach (Dad’s favorite) a lit lately. In Italy, pistachio gelato is belissima. Coffee with or without chocolate is also heavenly.

I hope DR TCB is feeling better today.

Do you have control over your thermostat or is it pre-set for the entire building?

I had to look up King Cakes.

My mother would hide the Baskin Robbins chocolate ice cream in the back of our freezer for my father and me. In the front she put larger containers of less expensive, and not as good, ice cream for my sister. Fortunately it worked.
Years later I hid small containers of Häagen-Dazs inside of another container for Bryan and me. Keith never noticed-lol Today he has his ice cream and leaves my Häagen-Dazs alone which is why he is thin and healthy.
-
DR Vixmom your ice cream would not need hiding as far as I am concerned-lol. I am soooo fussy.

Cute.
My problem with Rocky Road are the nuts in them. I can eat them, I just don't care for them in my sweets.

Congrats to MR BK & Co on the successful cabaret!!!

Nice photo DR VIXVANGOGH.....I mean DR VIXMOM

Maybe I will watch WHISKEY CAVALIER OnDemand.

I tried to make an omelet today - but my flip was a flop.....so I have to eat my omelet in a bowl.....but it was okay.....

It certainly takes a LOT of dishes to make one omelet.

The Haagen-Dazs vanilla bean is okay, and it's been a long while but I think I preferred the regular vanilla. I'd have to try them both again in a proper A/B testing facility; i.e., my kitchen.
Two ice creams I was absolutely passionate about in the 1980s: H-D's Peanut Butter Vanilla (it was in a swirl configuration), and a deep, rich chocolate one called Tres Chocolate (I don't know who made it) that I found at Lucky supermarkets in Los Angeles. Both, sadly, are gone with the wind.
DR Ginny, of course, reminds me that Graeters ice creams are wonderful. I had my first sampling of their chocolate chip around 1970.
-
During the late '70s and early '80s there were still a lot of Howard Johnson's restaurants around. I hadn't been in one in years, but one night a friend took a bunch of us into one for a late snack. I had their hot fudge brownie with vanilla ice cream, and it was the most perfect thing. I later started dropping in to one now and then for that very thing, and always took a couple of pints home with me. I have no doubt that their other flavors were just as wonderful as the vanilla, but I'm afraid I never gave myself the chance to find out.
Stew Leonard's has a vanilla along those lines, with real cream, etc.
Real custards are a treat. I rarely come across it in these here parts, but I've found it to be very popular in the South, at least in the Outer Banks.

Hello, everyone.

Congrats to BK on his very successful revue! I'd really like to see this show. I do hope it plays again.
-
Feel-better-PRONTO vibes to TCB!
-
I'm up, I'm up - my car alarm went off at noon for reason's unknown - maybe it talked to my iPad alarm, which did not go off at eleven as planned. So, I shut the alarm off and here I am. I do think I got me eight or nine hours of sleep.

TOD:
I've always loved ice cream, particularly a combination of chocolate and vanilla. But these days, if I eat it at all, it's the vegan kind made from coconut milk, which is SURPRISINGLY good! Rich and creamy and no fake taste. No dairy, thus no cholesterol. Right up my alley.
Trader Joe sells a chocolate/vanilla/caramel ice cream (NOT vegan) that is to die for, but unless I want to gain ten pounds I have to steer clear.

Yes, I have one, but I bought it for the nature sounds, rather than the white noise, which I find annoying. The nature sounds were disappointing. The rain is a deluge, not a nice pitter-patter. I do like the thunder, though. If I'm angry about something I sometimes put it on. Helps to let go of the anger. What works best for me is the portable fan, which I use most nights in warm weather. It drowns out quite a bit of noise without being a problem itself. NOTHING could drown out my noisy former neighbors!
As for ear plugs, I simply can't wear them. I've tried. I'm a side sleeper and they're quite uncomfortable.
-
You would think that with all the technology someone would come up with a better solution. There are noise absorbers available that hang on the walls, but I know little about them. I do know that noise is a very big problem for many people.
-
Jrand kindly sent me several CDs several years ago to help me sleep. Now that the worst of the noise has abated I think I'll pull them out and give them another try.
-
Now I need to get ice cream OFF my mind!
Have a good day, everyone.
TTFN.

Keith doesn't like the ear plugs either. White noise is a problem too. We have one friend that has purchased a fan both times he and his wife stayed here. They never did that in Ashland or in Michigan when they stayed with us, don't know why he needs it now. Maybe he just admits it now that he is older-lol

It seems to be the quiet time of day. We headed out for a walk just as the rain was ending and it stayed clear the entire time :)

I have a very nice facebook friend who has been through a lot in the last few years since her husband was diagnosed with cancer. I am very happy for her that she is on a dream vacation in Australia & New Zealand. Today I mentioned to Keith that her photos are the worse I have ever seen on FB. Keith discovered I was being kind when he went to FB to look for himself ;D

Time to head for the theater.
Be back later.

I don't find the white noise machine that i have to be annoying at all. It sort of sounds like a loud fan to me. The one I have drowns out noises from other rooms, from outside...
-
Noise rarely keeps me from falling asleep
-
In fact I fall asleep in front of a blasting tv quite regularly
-
Why is it blasting, you ask?
-
We're old people and can't hear them mutterers and whisperers otherwise
-
But what annoys me is when a loud noise wakes me up, like the idiot neighbors and their all night fireworks
-
Once I wake up from a found sleep I have trouble getting back asleep
-
I had another wake tonight

I know. I just had some Häagen-Dazs coffee ice cream.

You could take a really good chocolate ice cream and top it with Heath Bits O' Brickle, which you can find in the chocolate chips area.
-
I should follow my own advice, except I would have to leave the house at 10:30 and I don't need that.
-
I need sleep.
-
Let's move on ...
-
Four!
-
Posting is slow tonight.
-
I'm starting the first C.B. Strike, based on The Cuckoo's Calling. The lead, Tom Burke, isn't quite what I imagined, but he's good. The script is following the book very closely.
-
Lots of upheaval at work today. Doesn't affect me directly, but it will affect many of the people I work with.
-
Then Dad had some problems today. He apparently has an infection in his foot, which isn't great for a diabetic. I don't know how or when it will be treated. They're apparently waiting on a call.
He does have his surgery for his esophageal problem scheduled for the end of the month.

So, Kevin, will you headed to London?

Back from a really fun birthday dinner with Kay Cole.

You bet!
-
While I would not miss Barbra's performance in London I'm not crazy about the location. Hyde Park. No seats! Standing the entire time. One of the ticket categories allows you to go to another area where there are seats, but you can't see the performer from there. "Doors" open at 1:30 and there will be other acts before Barbra starts at the usual 8 pm. It will be a long day, but I'm looking forward to seeing friends from all over the world there.

It is not the same as the flavor of the ice cream, before the chips were added, was english toffee. Plus English toffee is a diffefent flavor than Heath Bar.
I have added candy to my coffee ice cream and enjoyed it. Chocolate I usually leave alone.

Oh, now I understand the surgery. Has he tried taking Protonix?

A couple of days ago, the projections started randomly just blinking out then right back on. It was more annoying than problematic, but tonight during the first act, it got to be problematic.
-
So, the only thing we could figure out was to turn off the projector and just have sounds, but when we started the second act, my computer screen that was showing the program went complete black, except that the mouse still showed! :o
-
I, of course, had no idea what the f*ck happened!
-
I just had to trust that the sound cues would still continue and I wouldn't lose my place, and for the most part that was what happened.
-
It was quite wonky and hopefully tomorrow, when Marko comes in early, he can figure things out...without an audience waiting for the second act to start. :-\
-
Tomorrow is opening night!!
-
Fortunately, tonight's small audience was quite understanding and really did still enjoy the show.
-
I will say that, even though the projections really do enhance the production, they aren't imperative to the show...they were just what the director wanted for her vision of the show.
-
PAGE FIVE PEACOCK DANCE!!

-
It's a Bunbury reference! ;)
-
And now, I must leave the theater. I've been sitting in my car out front, waiting for my car to defrost, and now that it has, I can leave.
-
DR George did you make it safely?
-
I am going to try and get a decent night of sleep.
-
DR George did you make it safely?
Oh, sure. I was actually finishing up my posts here. That's why I was letting my car defrost...and there really wasn't much defrosting to do. ;)
-
Good evening.
-
I am going to try and get a decent night of sleep.
Good luck! I need to, too.
-
Page 5? Barely?
-
George, sorry about the glitchy preview.
-
I'm home now. I brought sll the pre-show and intermission tracks so that I can make CDs instead of using the sound board. This will make it a little easier to control things in those sections of music, and it'll simplify the sound board program.
-
George, sorry about the glitchy preview.
Thanks, Tom. I'm sure that it'll all be better tomorrow...HOPEFULLY!!
-
Sharry and Micheal went to ANGELS IN AMERICA last night for the Actors’ Benefit Performance. There were nine people in the audience.

Oh, no. Hopefully, they'll get audiences.
-
This is the next to the last weekend.
-
There are six more performances of Part One and two more performances of Part Two.
-
Well, I am going to crash.
-
Goodnight, George.
-
Good night, Tom.
-
I'm converting MP3s to WAV files so that I can edit them the way they're adapted in the sound board program.
