And it is simply beautiful outside. Very hot but as beautiful a day as could be possible. I'm sure the organizers of the NASCAR Coca-Cola 600 are thrilled with the weather.

Now it seems to be fine - perhaps there was a hiccup of some sort.

I suppose I shall shortly be on my way to the John Scott brunch, even though for a time I thought I might not go.

I have the "younger generation" discussion with the DP all the time.  Most of the time it's not the youngin's that are at fault, it's often the way they are raised.  Most of the time by parents that spend more time on their lives than their kid's life and often leaves the kids to fend for themselves.  I feel sorry for a lot of this generation and often defend them in conversation.

I'm sorry if I offended any parents here by the above statement.

I finally caved in a couple of hours ago - closed the windows and turned on the air conditioning.  It's not the heat, it's the humidity!

The American Theatre Wing tv program today on THE DROWSY CHAPERONE is wonderful.  Producer Kevin McCollom and director Casey Nicholaw seem like such great people to work with.  It's interesting seeing book writer Don McKellar outside of his role on SLINGS & ARROWS.

The Indianapolis 500, which I watched from beginning to end, had a photo finish, but I thought the winning team should have been disqualified for the near-disaster in the pits.

Happy B'day, Mr. Brockman!!! wherever you are...

Jose! It is so good to see you back on the board! I'm just itchin' to know what some of those 5 offers are... I can't imagine you'll have much of a vacation after the matinee today. Cross your fingers and you just may get a week off to rest and hack around, go to shows, see friends, alla that - before diving back into a full schedule. So proud of ya, boy!

My young nephew Travis, 23, has been supporting himself since he was 14 - yes, that's the truth. He is a great boy, loves to party, his summer job is working for NASA. His father - my own dear brother - is 53 years old, going on 14. Some people can stay adolescent forever - and yes, my brother was exceptionally spoiled by his mother. My ex - same story - only he's about 16-going-on-17.

Like Merlin, I was born old, and have been getting younger and younger - in spite of the silver hair and wrinkles.

Challenges bring out the best and worst in people - early challenges of a survival type can cause children to lose their youth - excessive pampering can keep a child from growing up. There is no ONE recipe for becoming a real adult. We all do it our own way, for our own good reasons.

AND when someone posts an opinion, it is about THAT PERSON, reflecting their thoughts, history, memories, all o' that... someone else's opinion is NOT about YOU, and does not really concern you - unless you choose to learn about that person, or choose to take offense. No one can offend you without your permission, and decision...

I am percolating some coffee and finishing my Bollywood movie.

I stopped at Walmart earlier and a lady was handing out free samples of a new Ghiradeli (SP) dark chocolate...I tried a piece and bought two bars! LOL!

I am going to have a little square of it with my coffee! woohoo!

Back from brunch.  The usual eclectic John Scott soiree - our very own Nick Redman, neighbors Bob Gitt and Tony Slide (who has two really interesting books coming out this year), composer John Beal, Hillary McKendrick, Samantha Eggar and many others.

On another message board they are saying it is illegal for an actor with speaking lines not to appear in the credits. Matt has been on days again for two weeks but no listing.

Any insights?
