Good evening one and all.

I stand before you, a fallen woman.  Yes, it’s true.  Even though I did not partake of the forbidden rice that was hiding in the bottom of my soup bowl or the forbidden cheese that was not low fat or the forbidden olive or the forbidden tomato that was part of my soup and salad combo at the Columbia Restaurant.  I ate of the forbidden Cuban Bread (GASP!)  today and await your well deserved chastising.

It was warm and it smelled soooo good.  And the butter (I sinned big time) was soft and creamy looking.   I couldn’t help myself.  I ate it and what’s worse, I ENJOYED eating it. I would even go so far as to say I wolfed it down.  Oh woe is me!  How shall I redeem myself?   I was so good all week long!

Take two pints of ice cream and call me in the morning.

Sorry for those of you who went to that site not knowing what to expect.  One of our newbies mentioned that that's how he'd found us.  I found it a bit strange, personally, and I'm not sure what I think of the newbie or his motives.

Update on What's in the players.

CD:  Lisa Richards' "Born to Entertain"

Cassette:  Another compilation -- this containing selections form "Inside Daisy Clover"  and Anita Elllis singing "I Wonder What Became of ME" and "Roller Coaster Blues" (although I prefer Diana Dors' version of the latter).

Thank you DR Ann.  And when, may I ask, is your recital CD going to be available??

I have recital CD's available if you'd like one, TCB, or anyone else for that matter.  It's only about 2/3 of the program, thanks to my father forgetting to hit "record" but all the broadway stuff made it on there.  With the exception of a few piano goofs and one or two sour notes from me, it turned out quite well, IMHO.

I have not a blessed thing to say - but don't want to lurk - so I'm saying that I have not a blessed thing to say.
On my CD player is BILL EVANS TRIO WITH SYMPHONY ORCHESTRA. Wonderful.
Nothing else is on anything. I'm supposed to be working.

Danise you are too funny.  The Cuban bread sounds delicious though I can’t recall ever having any.  Is it a brown bread?  Years ago I baked all my own bread.  The problem was we would eat almost an entire loaf when it first came out of the oven.

Ann how do I get a copy?

No worries, BK.  I wasn't at all offended, I just wouldn't want my employers thinking I was checking out such things while taking care of their children.  But that was my fault, not the site's.

I just received this e-mail from Dear Reader TD:

busy day today.

took DAD to the emergency room this morning (10:00am) with major, major breathing problems.
CONGESTIVE HEART FAILURE.
he unloaded one quart of fluid from his lungs in the e.r. within one hour.
by 2pm I had had him admitted and situated in room 331 of st. margaret's hospital.
 indeed a busy day.

in case some of you don't know, i withdrew YESTERDAY from SYMPATHETIC MAGIC at the Open Stage Theatre due to increasing family health-related stress.

Let us send speedy recovery vibes to TD's Dad, and good thought vibes to TD and all who are important to him.

I'll fire up the dvd player later to watch MUTINY ON THE BOUNTY; last night I took in BOTH versions of GASLIGHT.

CD Player(s):
FOR GOD AND COUNTRY - Dolly Parton
WICKED (live and otherwise)
THE BAND
AGAINST THE TIDE - Davis Gaines

maybe I'll be a late-nite denizen, but, this body is tired, baby, tired.

DVD:  Still alternating between episodes of the 4th season of the "Spopranos" and the first season of "Soap"
You can tell the difference between the two shows, I hope?

To tell the truth, I'd probably have trouble telling the difference, too!

Hey, DER BRUCER and Woods - did you try to write me a private note, and accidentally send it to Panni, instead of Penny?
That's exactly what happened!  But we are planning on making it to your show.  (Or maybe Panni's show.  Who's going to be in our area again?   8) ::))

TCB:  though this is of course always subjective, I find FF's appearance on TIYL to be far from catatonic.  Watch it again--she responds articulately and at length to all questions posed.  One thing to remember is that Frances was incredibly reserved in person and dreaded the TIYL appearance to begin with.  There are heart-wrenching moments on that broadcast, mostly due to Ralph Edwards' incredibly classless questioning.

Even more indicative of her "real" tv persona is the surviving film of her hosting her afternoon show in Indianapolis.  But that's a "whole 'nother story."  :)

JMK, what is all of this research going into? Are you doing an article on Frances Farmer? I would like to know more! JRand53 has sent me a couple of books on her, and I am starting to become quite interested in this woman! What a sad, strange life...what I have read so far anyhow.

Best of vibes to one of our favoite DRs TD!

By the way, to you Jeff Richards fans (you know who you are!) I just finished an interview with an actor whose current wife was married to Jeff  R. back in the 50s. What a sad, sad, life Jeff Richards had. Drank himself to death while living in a tiny little trailer.

How sad about Jeff Richards. To have those looks and to have made some wonderful films and be so troubled. I'm very sorry. Some of us don't know how lucky we are.

DR TD, how disappointing for you to have to withdraw from the show. You are a wonderful man to sacrifice something that meant so much to you for the sake of your family. You're aces in my book!

Excellent postings!  I'm watching One From the Heart - I'll have plenty to say about it in Sunday's notes, but I'm afraid it's as bad as I remember it being.  Sometimes time is kind to these late seventies early eighties films I didn't love, but for me, time has done nothing to erase what I felt then and feel even stronger now.

Francis would be very unhappy with your opinion, bk. Did you listen to his commentary?

I've only seen bits and pieces of ONE FROM THE HEART. . . what I saw was lovely to look at, that's for sure. . .but, nothing has made me really want to see the whole thing.
I love the soundtrack, though, and will more than likely pick up the dvd just for the Tom Waits interview. . .
Tom Waits and Crystal Gayle. . .who'da thunk it? !? !?! ?
Of course, my favorite Tom Waits duet is with Bette Midler. . ."I Never Talk to Strangers."

i appreciate the good vibes. . . i'm sure that we shall endure. . . .
