BK:  This past weekend, you said you learned something amazing about soup.  What was it?  You never followed up on telling us.

The DVD of "Taboo" is listed at "Dress Circle". I'll restrain myself and not order it.

if the song is anything as good as "I Slipped on a Bannan Peel on the Champs D'Elysées" I am looking forward to it with eager breath :)

Ron.. here.. I'll make your Mayflower doubly on topic.

"And folks could see furniture in the van....burning to cinders."

Coincidently, Mr. Guy Haines sang a song from Mr. Cinders called "Spread A Little Happiness"

hahahaha Ron, you crack me up! :) We were told to go to the close golf course for easy access to the hotel in case something happened to our friend (she had been getting weak/dizzy for a week or so prior to the trip). You know, now that you mention it, guys following girls is very normal in Myrtle Beach. I don't think that ever occurred to us. Wow. You made a good point! I think the thing was, these guys looked like they were in their thirties, and we were youngish teens. (Middle-aged teens? All I know is I was 15.)

Hmm, I hope those people on I-580 are all right...

I learned something about soup?  I have no memory of it.

In Friday's (I Am The Steam Man) notes, bottom of page 2, you wrote:

""Has anyone misunderstood the nature of soup lately?  I sometimes misunderstand the nature of people - for example, this morning I found out a little something that baffled me but good.  Perhaps I'll share it with you later, for I must ready myself for the work environment.""

The soup reference, I think, may have been to Leek Soup which someone MAY have had the previous evening...but I wasn't sure what you learned that baffled you was soup-related or not.  You HAD mentioned having something called "tira misu" in your notes that day.

Trivia: Sting and Guy Haines both have recorded versions of "Spread A Little Happiness".  Who'd have thought?

Guys in their 30s following girls in their teens. Hmmmm....still sounds pretty normal for an SC beach to me.

I hope her trousseau wasn't in the chiffarobe!

And I don't think there will be a better song title than the aforementioned "I Slipped on a Banana Peel on the Champs Elysee."

....not in le tout Paree nor even le tout monde!

Whatever TABOO in any media that Dress Circle is selling is the English one which is almost a completely different show from the Broadway one.

Rosie didn't even have to the courtesy to appear in her book writer's AUNTIE MAME (after being mentioned in all the publicity).  Maybe she was unsure how the audience would react or maybe she realized that she can't act any character other than Rosie.

I can smell a four-day weekend, yes I can.

I lost all respect for myself at the grocery store last night.  I normally eschew the trappings of Thanksgiving, but I now have sweet potatoes, cranberries, asparagus, corn, regular potatoes, cornbread stuffing mix and a fully cooked smoked turkey in my refrigerator.

Lordy lordy lordy!  I didn't want to do no stinkin' cookin' on Thanksgiving!

I think a better title for that Trafalgar song might be "I tripped on a transient in Trafalgar Square."

What's your least favorite Christmas song?

I'm beginning to think mine is the Andy Williams version of "It's the Most Wonderful Time of the Year."

For one reason, it seems to get played all the time, everywhere I go.

For another, it is NOT the most wonderful time of the year...not by a long shot.  It consistently fails to live up to most folks' expectations of it and it induces stress, chronic overspending and a general malaise, that in many people, evolves into deep depression.

I love the season, to be sure.  But I hate seeing what it does to others.

Every time I hear that song, I ask myself "What was he THINKING" when he recorded it????

Ron: It wasn't the nature of soup, it was the nature of people - it had something to do with someone who'd registered here, but I kind of misunderstood the username until I thought about it - then I understood what it really meant and it was fine.
