Tonight I will record the 2nd episode of the new Anne Heche show, MEN IN TREES (the first episode repeats at 8pm).

I must say this show is quite good. Very funny. IF you like anne heche at all (she is in every scene) then i would definitely suggest checking out this show.

Okay now i need to vent.

Sunday is my sister's baby's 1st birthday. And my mom (who used to decorate cakes professionally) is making her cake.

We went and rented the pan on sunday and reserved it for today. They put it in the front and told us we could take it at 10am (today) and have it till 6pm saturday.

So i go at noon to get it. And guess what? They rented it to someone else yesterday.

Okay i was livid. I don't care if someone else wanted it yesterday. But since we reserved it first, they should have told the person they had to have it back by 10am. So inconsiderate.

Anyhow they called the person and the woman said she would bring it back in 1/2 an hour.  But i just don't get why they didn't call us to ask what time we would be picking i up at. Or call us to let us know someone else took it yesterday. And to make it worse, the woman behind the counter was rude about it saying that they are allowed to reserve it the day before someone else has it.

I told her the other woman told us we could have it at 10am. Well she said that was not written on the paper. So basically the other woman could keep it till 9pm tonight if she wanted to.

I will call now and see if it is there. If it is not then someone is gonna get an earful.

Thank you all for the vibes!  I've just got in from the start of the matinee today for The Singing Nun.  I checked in on the band, gave a couple of notes, and now I have a few errands here besides running to the bank.  I've got a bit of tax work to do for my accountant, and an inventory of what music paper is sitting on my shelf.  It should be a quiet but busy afternoon and evening.

DR George, I meant to comment earlier but I was preoccupied and in a hurry to get on with my day:  I love the new avitar!

Loved Anne Heche in both PROOF and TWENTIETH CENTURY on Broadway.

Despite the weirdness in her personal life, she seems to have it all as a star and as an actress.

Let me tell you about my Friday adventure department:  I am just coming down off the most stupendous adrenaline rush I've had in a long time.  And not in a good way.  :)  I got back from the store this morning and had let BeeGee and Blanche out in the front yard when I suddenly heard this huge crash and came out to the kitchen to see a large black dog that at first thought might be BeeGee (the lights weren't on), but almost immediately discovered was some other HUGE black lab that had literally broken through our garage screen door.  The dog looked like it had just been hit by a car, and started madly running through our house, knocking stuff over, and both throwing up and having diarrhea as I chased after it trying to get it under control.

This dog was so strong that I (no milquetoast) could literally not hold onto it.  I managed to get it outside again with only the most Herculean of efforts.  At which point ANOTHER dog came ambling up.  I was trying to call Animal Control, but of course no one was answering the emergency line!!

The first dog was so strong I could not get him to hold still long enough to get his license number off of his collar.  In the meantime one of my neighbors came running over and said she thought the dogs lived up the street, so we went up there and, believe it or not, they had completely knocked over a six foot pretty new wood fence to get out of their yards.  We left message after message at the people's house, but of course no answer.

So, with great difficulty, I got my dogs inside and brought these two loose dogs back and fenced them in my yard while I waited for Animal Control to pick them up.

Oy.  Maybe even double oy.

JMK - Frightened strong dogs can be scary indeed. It sounds like one of them was sick. Did they calm down when you got them in your back yard?

In her interview with Robert Osborne, Angela said the preview cards for FOUR HORSEMEN all came back saying they couldn't understand Thulin's speaking, so since her husband was an MGM exec at the time, she came in and did the dubbing in two days.

I finished the Dietrich concert DVD this afternoon. There wasn't that much left, and since this was the section that was on the videotape I viewed last week, there wasn't anything new to see (only better quality video and audio).

Next came BRIEF ENCOUNTER, one of the greatest romances of all time. And what I adore about it is that the two stars aren't "movie stars" at all but folks who look like you and I look - everyday folks. It makes their heartbreaking, decent affair all the more touching and real.

How nice to see this the day after we were all talking about the nature of love.

Next up was last night's THE OFFICE rerun, a repeat of the season finale featuring a romantic confrontation between Jim and Pam, and Michael finding himself with two dates for Casino Night. Many hilarious things happened during the evening, and Jim's tearful confession to Pam of his true feelings is something I never get tired of watching.

I finished the afternoon with a POIROT mystery hour - "The Disappearance of Mr. Devenhaim." Hadn't seen this one in awhile, but I recognized the solution pretty early. Quality-wise, this one was really poor. It was the first of the episodes converted to DVD, and if the other two are like this, they're very lacking. I have the second one - "The Veiled Lady" - cued up ready to play when I go back down later.

From your lips to God's ears.  Hopefully after we get a fullscale production, finalize the band and become a hit.

This is a new concept to me.  There are places that rent cake pans?

I've always purchased my own, but I realize there are cake pans and there are CAKE PANS (i.e. SERIOUS cake pans).

Is this a common practice in the U.S., as well?  And where would I go if I wanted to rent a serious pan?

I'd love to hear it for myself.

Ditto the original voice tracks of Andie McDowall for "Greystoke".

And...was anything more nonsensical than Mel Gibson being dubbed for "Mad Max"?

I have the Special Edition DVD with the original Australian sound mix (and Mel's own voice) and it's SO-O-O much better.
