I, for one, would like visual documentation.

The trees are being howled through like a flock of nattering banshees.

Nabobs "natter", banshees "bicker".

RE: HEROES, those blogs were weird.  It's basically Claire and Zach (the characters).  But they talk as if they are high school students and cannot share claire's secret.

I think it might have been more fun if they wrote about her powers.

DR RonPulliam - thank you for the clever e-card for Thanksgiving!  It looks a lot like what I did last night, except my pie crust comes ready made and the pumpkin comes out of a can!

Scott and Rob (not our DS), the furnace guys, are here trying to find our unwelcome Thanksgiving guest, so far to no avail.

For all TAR fans did you know the next installment of TAR will be THE AMAZING RACE allstars?

I'm not really sure who will be involved (although i think it has started filming).

I heard there will be no winners. What do you guys think about that?

Rumored to have been seen at the airport: Rob and amber, charla and mirna, and the guidos.  My sis said she read Joyce and Uchenna and maybe even dave and mary (from kentucky).

I love romber so i am happy. Hopefully some of my other favorites will make it (i like competitive).

I hadn't heard that.  Could be interesting to see if people do things differently.

ROMBER!!!  Oh DR Jennifer, and here I was about to post about how much I agree with you lately ;)

Back in the 80's, I used to have my "orphan" VMC co-workers over to my house for T-Day. Now it's much more complicated. My parents are divorced so I don't see my father. We cook the turkey to take to my mom's house where there will be @ a dozen people, then rush over to Greg's parents, an hour south of there, and try to celebrate the same with them. (You really have to pace your food intake for this event.)

I'm hoping this year Greg will be able to get our stove working...it's been out of commision for over a year. We bought the turkey last year already prepared and it was tasty but not as good as mine, which is cooked with French shallots in a bottle of champagne. (No jokes about how I got the turkey into the bottle, please!)

Until then, I'm stuck here looking at 30+ hours of comic relief footage.

Next year I hope to have everyone at our new house for T-Day and no more rushing around from house to house!

I could be wrong, but this doesn't seem to be a custom here on the East Coast, at least not around Rehoboth.  Maybe the ties that bind us to our families are stronger here.  Either that, or the blue laws are stronger.   :-\

Actually, there is a different "capitalist" reason. In Delaware what are normally called "bars" are illegal (there are three "grandfathered "establishments in the state): venues that serve alcoholic beverages must have a full-service kitchen, and 80% of their revenue must be derived from food sales (I'm sure the accountants have a grand time with this). So, a waterhole that offered a free buffet would be competing with its own kitchen!

Not if the kitchen is closed and it is an appreciation for the best patrons who will be happy to have a friendly place to go for the holiday and will in return provide much revenue for the rest of the year....sort of a loss leader

It is SOOO quiet her this afternoon. Only 2 of us in the office, the judges have left and most of the courthouse staff is gone.  We're closing an hour early today and I am off to buy a new cell phone.   I'm thinking about a Motorola RAZR. Does anyone have one of those? Any problems?

No...behind the scenes stuff for TBS. I think it will only be internet content but the shots are so wide that it's hard for me to imagine that it will be worth looking at.

Nope - can't serve booze if the kitchen is closed!
(And the dining rooms are always packed with reservations).

The loss leaders are the weeknight reduced rate meals.

Plus, in a small resort town, off-season, there are few "orphans".

Flowers were just delivered to our house from my sister and niece!

And our DS Rob called for navigational assistance out of Cincinnati - the freeway's all backed up and he needed some advice on alternate routes.

Lest I be remiss:

Happy Thanksgiving EVERYone!  Including those who don't celebrate it!
Thank you Ron

No sign of Pilgrims nor of Fishnet Indians here. I doubt there are many turkeys around either,  though we do have State election on Saturday.

Well DRRLP - I switched to ABC and saw the last five minutes of General Hospital today....lovely Laura is back in the sanitarium in a catatonic state, and Luke was saying goodbye....and they has some clips of their wedding day....  And it did make me sad.  I like the actors a LOT....I just don't like the story line....  Of course I wanted Laura to stay with Scotty....
