Anyone who voted for this (and I doubt anyone KNEW they were voting for something this stupid) should be strung up by their thumbs.

I assure you the Congressmen were very aware for what they were voting, and their was considerable discussion of the issue. Many politically active people, myself included, think it was a very good idea! City dwelling parents of young children were particularly anxious  DST be extended past Halloween. There was also considerable coverage in the Press.

If the people were unaware, it was self imposed ignorance!

I am seeing my grandma later this week, I will ask if you wish, but I was only 7 or so at the time so I do not really remember, and the record is now long gone, sold when she moved.

Why don't they just make it daylight savings time all the year round?  You know, somehow we all got on fine with it the way it was.  For decades and decades.  Children were fine.  Parents were fine.  The world was fine.  We didn't all die because it got dark at five.  And I'm sorry - Halloween in the light is just plain dopey.

Time is unimportant..we live within ourselves, why let a piece of machinery run our lives?

I have been told some news and, as always, I want you to be the first to know - the Creature soundtrack will be announced by the end of next week.  It will not be on Kritzerland - it's on a soundtrack label and it will be a limited edition of 1000 copies.  I haven't decided and/or ascertained whether I'll sell it on Kritzerland's website, but right now I'm sort of doubting it.  If I don't, you will all be the first to know where to order it from and when.

I've been proofing the notes and packaging and it really looks great.  I wrote all new notes covering the entire history of the film, and there are lots of never-before-revealed details included.  The CD itself is jammed with stuff - the entire score as heard in the original version of the film, alternate tracks, alternate Creature vocal, demos of two of the songs, sing-along Karaoke versions of the songs, and four minutes of Broderick Crawford doing lines that never ended up in the film.

Great news!

A. In 2001 CA did request federal permission to go on year-round DST (9/11 events overcame that action)

B. We have changed DST about every 10-20 years:
1945
1966
1973
1975
1986
2006

C. DST is not mandatory, a locality can opt-out; all the Feds require is that IF you have DST, these on the start-stop times.
