BK, Jose, JMK, Matthew and anyone else who might be able to help:  My brother and his fiancee decided they want the Vixter to sing at tehir wedding.  The song they have chosen is One Hand, One Heart  from West Side Story.  I pointed out that this was a duet, but they want her to sing it as a solo

Have you ever seen an arrangment of One Hand One Heart to be sung as a solo? Where could I even start looking for such a thing?

Yes, the old P-V score that came out when the movie was first released has it on one staff for solo voice.  I probably have a copy lying around here somewhere.

I have the blue conductor's score of WSS, too.  :)

I used to MD the big Democratic Party of Oregon's biannual parody musicals, when all of the big D's would "put on a show," which was usually hilarious.  One year we did "Nest Side Story" (it was the era of the spotted owl, if anyone remembers that brouhaha).  I not only MD'd, I directed.  Anyhoo, about 3/4 of the way through Act I, my piano lightbulb went out and I got to play that great Bernstein music from memory.  I was scaaaarrrrrred.  :)

Have you ever noticed that when there is a sign that says "Restrooms closed due to construction" that you suddenly have an urge to use the restroom?

...And that's after you've already passed another set of restrooms... "I'll just go to the ones closer to my gate>"  NOT!

And the ones closer to the gate were closed for cleaning!! So, I just went through security...that was interesting.  TSA did an inspection shortly before I went through. Apparently they sent a girl with a cast on her leg through as a test or something...at least that's what I think happened because one of the TSA people was talking to someone with TSA INSPECTOR on her back and said "You know, when I saw her coming through I thought...'I wonder if this is a test'"  Yeah right

And I am off to the Office of Post and then to the Shoppe of Comics.

Which reminds me - no package yet Dan.  I hope I gave you the right address!

Darn!  I verified your address with DR Elmore, too.  I'll send out another copy on Friday.

Cillaliz -- the big party was yesterday.

Safe travels to you.

Yeah, I know.  This is the second time I've gone to New Orleans the day after Mardi Gras.  It's really pretty nice. It's fairly quiet. The rowdies are either gone or have hangovers

DR CILLA LIZ is on her way to The Big Easy.

You bet I am!   I'm also looking forward to the seminar and hoping I can pick up a couple ideas for my trial on the 10th of March.  I'll have plenty of people to brainstorm with.  That's always fun even if I don't agree with most of them ;)

I am alsso please to announce that when I saw my radiologist this morning he said I was making very good progress.  My voice is starting to come back a little and he is sending me to a speech and swallowing therapist to teach me how to eat and talk again.

That sounds so funny.  I'm very pleased with all of your news medical & PC news this morning. :)

Greetings from Nebraska.   Bet you don't hear that every day...  I've decided I'm really over-thinking this immigration court stuff.  I was up last night worried about this and that and stressing like a new lawyer.  I got to court and no problem. The court set my client's next hearing for January 2010.

Almost a year, is that normal?

Good news:  chimney repair people are here.  Roof is ordered and will hopefully be in on Monday.

Bad news:  my bossa nova drummer is being a complete idiot about our planned upcoming CD (which I now think I will not do, at least not with him).  He doesn't think it's necessary to license things through Harry Fox (WRONG) and he also thinks it's "fair" to keep all proceeds from any CDs he sells himself (instead of splitting them amongst the band members).  What a moron (technical term).
