This has to be one of the least attended Fourth of July parties I have ever been to in my life.

My party this afternoon took an unfortunate turn when I took a bad fall off of my friend's back steps.

TCB - You were the first to point out to me the other day that the times-viewed were moving somewhat quickly, but I had at first attributed that to my having used a relatively-cheap YouTube promotion feature, where if a YouTube user searches for something like "Mark Sanford" or "South Carolina" - the link to my video would pop up along with anyone else's who's chosen to use the promotion feature.  But they give you numbers and it turns out that out of the 28,000, only 2873 are due to people clicking on the promotion, the rest of the views came naturally.

But as I said out loud the other day, I'm content with the fun of having reached 25,000, and I'll stop checking as regularly.

I hope you at least completed the triple rotation before you landed.  Otherwise, they deduct points.

DR elmore3003 - faced with the Overture to Candide as you described, I would have seriously considered departing posthaste.       :P

I knew it was a bad beginning, but I had hopes and I wanted to see how the production looked. Besides, that's why God invented the fast-forward button.

For anyone amused by such things, an internet friend who knows I'm became a little gaga at having gotten over 10,000 views when I was previously (that is, just four or five days ago) very content and happy with 2500-4000 views sent me this link:

http://www.slate.com/id/2221553/

which is basically about the "likelihood" of anyone ever getting a million views on YouTube :)

Larry - It's twoo.  I'm actually now able to be away form the computer for a few hours without needing to check how the vidoe is doing.

DR FJL, I love you, but I don't believe you!  No no no, I'd sooner believe you if you tried to sell me a bridge in Brooklyn! ;D

I'm going to watch IM WEISSEN ROSSL from the Morbisch Festival now. Their productions are safe, traditional, and rather well done. And the orchestra plays well.

Well, it just hit 25000 this morning, so the will power hasn't lasted that long so far.

We're "back" in NYC now, watching the fireworks show in NBC.

If I weren't so tired I would go watch the show.  I've been working hard all day, & the last couple of days, doing some major cleaning.  We have too many books to dust one by one.

I feel so bad.

My niece stayed over tonight. When we were eating dinner, the person beside her spilled hot coffee and it landed on her (she is almost 4).

She had such a look of panic on her face (it spilled a bit on her arm and leg).

Anyhow i grabbed her right away and within a few seconds had stipped off all her clothes and was running cool water in the shower. So that part i was proud of myself for.

I let it run for about 5 minutes and she said it didn't hurt anymore. When i looked at it then her arm was completely fine. And her leg was red (less than the size of a hand). But it wasn't badly red (less than what i've seen a 1st degree burn looks like).

I put a cold pack on her. But she said it didn't hurt. She wanted to watch a movie. I looked at during the movie. But after (the movie was 1 hour 20 minutes) i lifted up the side of her underwear and there were 2 blisters that weren't there before (less than the size of my finger nails).

I feel so bad. Because if i had insisted on keeping the cold compress on during the movie then i wonder if that would have happened.

Anyhow i took antibiotic ointment and put a big white bandaid over it. Hopefully it will look better tomorrow. Or my sister might kill me. At least it doesn't hurt. :(

Oy, Larry, you're like an enabler. :)   i just checked, which I wouldn't have done without this conversation and it's at 29283.  Now I won;'t be able to get to sleep until it hits 30,000!!!  I blame elmore if I don't get to sleep until 2 or 3 this morning.  :) :)

I think it will be. She is sleeping now. The burn part i'm 99% sure is okay. I just don't know anything about blisters. They are very small. I will wait till tomorrow and show my sis.

I just feel so bad. I know i thought quickly re: the shower. She was in there in seconds. I just didn't realize the blisters could develop afterwards. :(

Sadly, none of the judges were watching.  They asked me to do it again, but I refused.
