Is today your actual anniversary?

No, not 'til Monday...

I didn't think I had missed it, and then you mentioned the anniversary coupon... :)

Speaking of anniversaries, January 16 is the anniversary of the day my mother was killed.  It  was the Sunday before Martin Luther King Day.  It only lines ups every seven years or so, but I knew that this year it was that way.  I was dreading putting up my new2011 state calendar, because I knew I would have to stare at it all year.

Surprise, surprise, for the first time in my 28 years with the state, their calendar has an error.  Friday says the 14th, Saturday says the 15th, Sunday says the 14th, and Monday says the 17th.  I get to skip the anniversary this year!

Good, you should skip the anniversary :)   I'm sorry you can't go away to someplace fun & be distracted.

Ok, one more and then I will stop with the sad celebrity deaths.

Actress Nalini Jaywant, who played opposite Ashok Kumar in the Bollywood science fiction film MR X (1957) passed away at her home in Chembur. She was 84. MR X, which spawned at least two sequels, was based on the Invisible Man story.

Nalini Jaywant was a big name in Hindi cinema in the 40s and 50s. Some of her other films included: BAHEN (Sister) 1944, ANOKHA PYAR (1948), SANGAM (1950), RAILWAY PLATFORM (1955), KALPANI (Life Sentence) 1958, and BOMBAY RACE COURSE (1965).

After her husband passed away a few years ago she become increasingly reclusive, according the friends and neighbors, although she did befriend two stray dogs that she kept as her own.

I signed up for an online grad school and I find out I have to go to upstate New York in early February for a four-day residency. I am not amused.

 ???
Wouldn't you rather go to Bermuda or Hawaii in February than upstate New York?

Speaking of famous passings, The Tacoma News Tribune (which totally ignored any mention of Dorothy Provine's passing, even after I wrote to them; becasue there was no listing on the AP, so they refused to believe it) posted this photo with their story regarding the death of Margaret Whitting:

I think we all would.

Is it seasonal? I feel down today, too. There was no sunlight here and it really gets to me.

No, it isn't really seasonal.  I am on Prozac, and most of the time I am fine; but evey once in a while it hits me like getting slugged in the gut.

Definitely. That looks more like a drag queen version of Margaret Whiting.

What kind of class are you taking JohnG.
One class is called Models of Critical Inquiry: Landscapes of Learning. (Yes, I'm yawning, too.)

The other is an orientation class with an equally pedantic name with the words Liberal Studies in it.

This is rather cool news. I would never pay to see the show in New York, but at a local movie theater, sure:

OK, three months is an awful lot of previews to ask critics to wait.

I am not even sure I would pay to see it at the cinema.  Maybe the DVD from the library.

Back from a meeting with the director for Altar Boyz and feel much better about Saturday's callbacks than I did earlier today.  I think it will be a great show.  It's rather cute and the music works well with the characters and the story.  I guess out of context, I wasn't crazy about the score.

I thought that several major critics had already reviewed it.
