I finished the final two Wallander movies, which I'll write about in the notes, but I'll just say they were both superb and thankfully returned to the earlier style of the show - so those two episodes, ten and eleven, were anomalies directed by a hack, who allowed sloppy writing, terrible washed out visuals, quick cutting and all that "now" crap - the worrisome thing is that from what I've read, that style very much apes the Branagh Wallander series - if that's the case, that will be going on the trade pile very quickly. The final episode was fantastic and VERY moving. Wallander has had a wonderful dog all season, name Jussi - a lovable dog, and Jussi has a good role in the final episode. Interestingly, those two terrible episodes directed by the hack, are the only two episodes of series two in which Jussi does not appear. So, if anyone decides to pop for series one and two, my advice when watching series two is to simply skip the two bad episodes, although there is some information in them about a budding romance between two regulars that's important, but they're just so bad that I would skip them.
