About an hour ago Richard received word that the whole alumni fest has been moved into the ice arena.  The weather radar shows massive thunderstorms heading right for us.  I think I'll stay home.

Traveling vibes for Richard and may you be the only one missing this event due to weather.

It was a lovely 75 degrees here.  Tomorrow rain & cooler temps are expected again.  We really need the rain.

Yes The hockey game is on tonight.

Patrick Kane's (Chicago Black Hawks)  Father grew up on the same street and me.

His sister went to school with DR Kevin.

I made my famous potato Salad today.

It was delicious!

I'll have to make some for DR Kevin when he comes to town.

I spent at least two hours on the phone with Barnes and Noble support.  They are sending me a new Nook which I hope will eliminate the problems.  Fortunately I can still use my Nook until the switch over.  It will likely take another two hours (hoping I'm wrong here) for them to explain how to download everything onto my new Nook.  It might be faster to drive the half hour each way to B & N.

Cillaliz---I really enjoyed your photos of Barry Manilow.
I remember when "Harmony" opened at the La Jolla Playhouse in 1997..it's based on a true story about a singing group that was disbanded ( no pun intended ) by the Nazis in 1935 because several of the members were Jewish.
BK's friend Danny Burstein played the Rabbi and his real-life wife, Rebecca Luker, played his wife.
Songs got good reviews, book did not.

Congrats JRand, on getting the part of "Man In Chair"---I love "The Drowsy Chaperone"!

Casey Nicholaw was also in the Barry Manilow musical "Harmony".

Richard's name tag for the Miami University Alumni Weekend has a sticker on it that says "45," meaning that this is that anniversary of his college graduation.  And, DR Elmore's  :-*

Of course, that means that this year marks my high school 45th...

Back from a close to four-mile jog.  Earlier I had a patty melt, picked up one package, and watched a motion picture.  I went back to the edit road map and changed several things, then sent that off, then sent the track titles to the designer.  If I feel up to it, I'll probably start writing the liner notes tonight - would like to finish them by Monday.

Only 45 years? Seems like 4500 years some days. I remember that in 1968 I saw Richard the evening of graduation, probably the first time I'd seen him in the 67-68 school term. It was late, around 10 or 11pm, I was walking down High Street to the apartment I was living in that summer with about five other summer theatre friends, and he gave me a ride to the apartment and told me he was going into the service, After he left, I cried most of the night, He was my best friend from 1957 through high school, and i was convinced I would never see him again because he would die in Viet Nam. The lucky bastard did his service in Europe!

DR Laura I just noticed this:

Wae-Ling Goldstein: "Hi Miss Laura."
Me: "Hi honey. Are you ready to go on our butterfly walk?"
Wae-Ling: "Yes!"

One hour and thirty-six minutes later...

Me (Answering cell phone): "Hello?"
Mr. Goldstein: "Hello. Is Wae-Ling with you?"
Me: "Yes ... we left the house well over an hour ago."
Mr Goldstein: "Ok. I didn't know she had left the house."

When did it happen?

Probably. Would they do everything for you there?

What is wrong with your nook?

Bought a black truffle today at the market. Have shavings now sealed up in a jar of eggs. In week, they will be scrambled into the most magnificent dish I know. Need that at a brunch with some Champagne.

I read that as  "I bought a truffle today at the black market"

I was wondering why you  were buying illicit truffles

I had an exceptionally nice person with an accent I could mostly understand.  My Nook wasn't cooperating as it should & locking up.   My troubles began after a software update a couple of months ago. After numerous attempts to fix it I called back for them to wipe everything and reset it.  What took so long was mostly putting everything back on.  I am able to use the Nook it just takes a bit of work sometimes.
