Where is everybody?

I must tidy this apartment. I have company tomorrow!

You may have to send the boy over to the funeral home for extra chairs!

Woo hoo!  Phone rings, door chimes!

I guess no one else watched SPOILS OF BABYLON last night.....

At your recommendation, I have made myself a note to set it up for future DVRing.

It's one of the perks of living here.

It's a toss-up as to which is the more luxurious amenity: that, or the rowdy/noisy/thoughtless neighbors!

LOL. Oh, you know what it's like to rent!

DR Jeanne, you need to move to my apartment complex. They are very nice here.

DR MBarnum didn't need to watch it; it was going on right in his very own living room!

Hardly, DR Ring Ding...not until I can get some furniture covers, anyway.

I was very sad to learn today that Bollywood back-ground dancer, Pamela, passed away. She was living in Conneticut...which I did not even know. Fellow Bollywood back-ground dancer, Edwina, posted about it on Facebook today.  :(

Pamela is one of the dancers in HHW's favorite vintage Bollywood night club dance number. Jaan Pechan Ho from GUMNAAM (1965)

I don't know which gal is Pamela, however. Laxmi Chhaya is the main dancer. Edwina was not in the number, but her brother Terence played one of the band members and Robert, Babu, Shinde, Tressa, William and Marie are all in their dancing.

GUMNAAM is the epitome of Bollywood theft: The main title sounds like Mancini's "Charade" and the plot is "And Then There Were None." And the big number? WEST SIDE STORY on drugs. My favorite is the beach number "Can a girl with those piano legs love a chubby little man like me?"

(I don't otherwise know the Maggie Smith reference...sorry.)

"What is a weekend?" from Downton Abbey.

Ahh...thanks for the info.  I've never seen the show but now that you mention it, someone did quote that line to me in context of the show.

Deliciousness of what flavor?

Last night, I had their new (for a limited time) Reece's Peanut Butter Cup Pie Blizzard and it was quite delicious.  They have a regular Reece's Peanut Butter Cup Blizzard.  I also love their Double Fudge Cookie Dough Blizzard and Banana Cream Pie Blizzard.  And sometimes if I'm real adventurous, I'll get the Banana Cream Pie Blizzard and have Butterfingers added (for an extra cost, of course).  That's yummy!

Elan - I've never heard the Hebrew MY FAIR LADY, but am very familiar wit the Hebrew HELLO DOLLY, KING AND I and OLIVER.  The latter two recordings star Rivka Raz, whom I believe was the Israeli production's FAIR LADY.

I Blew Up, and I Don't Care - I think that is the working title of Mitzi Gaynor's autobiography.

And Mario Lanza's too.

This is kinda cool...

People who look like twins, but aren't related at all.

That's pretty cool.  Of course, there have always been a lot of celebrities who look alike.

Not very sporting of DR Jeanne to drop in and leave us with a pile of interesting sounding book titles to occupy our every waking moment.      :)

No, not sporting at all. When ye olde back won't function I try to lose myself in a good novel. Thus, novels are on my mind.

As for A CONSPIRACY OF PAPER by David Liss, it truly is one of my favorites. Mr Liss is not only adept at fiction, he knows so much about Jewish history and also about the evolution of the financial markets. All of this is woven together very well. A very impressive work, IMHO.

He lives in San Antonio, I believe.

So I had to say good bye to my nice maple shade tree today.  The split in the tree I may have mentioned meant that it could have easily fallen on the power wires going into my house or across the street where it would have blocked traffic or something worse.   They couldn't save it....well, they could have but it would have been really awful looking.  So, after trying to get my tree guy for a week, he called and after looking at it, he had his crew here in an hour.   I am poorer, but relieved it's gone, as I was afraid of the harm it could have caused

While I was watching them cut down the tree I realized that my garage door won't go down all the way without banging and going back up.  It isn't the sensor it's something else.  So after a number of calls, I found a repair man who can come to the house in the morning.   Whew!

Great cast for Little Me!  Maybe I'll make it to NY to see it and for a possible HHW get-together!

Listening to Ms. Luker singing "Bill."   Love the line:  "whenever he dances, his partner takes chances!"
