Don't you like  your neighbors?

Since it was all outside, I figured that it would be better to put the huge spiders in the little gardens to (hopefully) eat bugs that harm the flowers.

That's my story and I'm sticking to it. ;)

I actually had a 1pm appointment at this place around the corner, but when I was trying to choose nail colors they didn't have the first 5 I chose and the owner kept trying to upsell me on services and  the woman who he was assigning me to spoke no English whatsoever (An issue when I need to communicate what I want done) and since I speak no Vietnamese , I left.

Good for you!

After waiting nearly 10 minutes for the girl behind the counter to finish having a long chat with the customer before me , she turned to the man who had just  arrived to take his order,

WTH?? :o

At vavoline you drive right into the shop, and you don't even leave your car

I go to a local JiffyLube and it's also (almost always) instant service without leaving your car. :)

Yes, DR TCB, the wonderful Vivienne Segal created the role of Vera Simpson and introduced "Bewitched" in Pal Joey. She was one of Lorenz Hart's favorite actresses, and she created roles in the Rodgers & Hart shows I Married an Angel, Pal Joey, and the revised version of A Connecticut Yankee, in which she introduced "To Keep My Love Alive."

I love that song!  The first time that I ever heard it was when Elaine Stritch performed it on PBS! :D

Neve has calmed down, so it's all good.

Yes.  Has your heart stopped racing ;)

Fortunately, I calmed down pretty quickly...right after I containered the spiders.

To counter the sad news we had some good news this morning.  We woke up to a text that said
"Genetic testing came back today. Everything is normal.  Looks like a girl."

Congrats on the normal results!

Well, I need to be going now.  I'm off to my parents' and some door knob and deadbolt changing.

Until later.

DR TCB I am very pleased you are enjoying your washer & dryer but a bit surprised you used to be able to smell smoke on your clothes.  Did the laundry service you used to use permit smoking on the premises?

Or the people who did your laundry were themselves smokers and carried it on them. Either way, I'd find it unacceptable. Which was it, Tom? Or something else?

I don't blame you. The technician doesn't need to be particularly fluent, just enough to do the job.

I know that many of you have iPhones. Can anyone tell me what a dying iPhone is like? Was it a battery problem?

My iPhone was behaving strangely yesterday, then it just cleared up. This is NOT a good time for me to shop for a new phone. I have a call into my Apple guy, but he's always insanely busy, so I may not get a call back right away.

Why do we have to personally know the victims to be affected by their deaths?

Amen.

Austin was fun. The dim sum was great. Got my favorites: clams in black bean sauce, daikon cakes, egg custard cups. I was surprised at the number of vegetable options available, most of which were really good, including brocolini leaves and quick pickled cucumbers.
