Voldemort is basically a middle school girl: he has a locket, a diary, a tiara, a ring, and is completely obsessed with a teenage boy.

Jane, a few nights ago I started Barry Maitland's A RAVEN'S EYE. I like Maitland's work. He's a competent writer and has a different take than other mystery writers. The story revolves around two Swedish sisters, one of whom is named Freyja. I'd never heard the name until you posted that that's your granddaughter's name. This Freyja is strikingly attractive and extremely bright. Her sister is named Gudrun, which isn't nearly as pretty, IMO.

Jeannie do you think it will matter if I begin the series with this book?

It's not a series. I think all his books are stand-alones. But I must warn you that it's a murder mystery and yes, the sisters are killed. Not so happy in that respect.

I read mysteries.  Since Freyja is killed I think I will pass ;D

Oh, but she doesn’t die until the final page when you find out she killed all of the others (and her sister).

:))

TOD:

I’ve lost too many friends in the restaurant biz to keep track of. My favorite Italian restaurant is probably the hardest to bear. They were among the smart ones who got out at the beginning of the pandemic. The ones who are operating on a smaller scale could disappear at any moment. But as I’ve cut my circle back, I’m eating out less and less, and cooking more.

I think what scares me most about covid is the threat of the loss of smell and taste.

I have not read of anyone who said their sense of small and taste did not return.

It did not return for any of the dead people.

I read that those were symptoms of mild cases, at not serious.

They can't get rid of anyone but the CAN add two liberal judges to even things out.  That loophole is absolutely doable.

Or someone could just kill the three oldest conservative judges.

Or any three random conservative judges...they don't have to be the oldest. ::)

Fewer people would notice the oldest ones being gone.

Of course, that makes sense...but the younger ones don't deserve to be there, so they should go first. ;)

Actually, I have to agree with Jeanne.  I am not sure she will be a terrible judge.

God, I just saw the most horrible Trump campaign ad.  It looked like a Cecil B DeMille biblical movie.
