The largest meal I can ever rememeber eating happened about twenty years ago. A friend of mine who's a caterer wanted to add Chinese cuisine to his list of available catered meals, so he fixed his living room as a Chinese pagoda, and he invited eight of us to partake of his Chinese meal. It was 12 courses of food, and I thought I was going to burst around course nine or ten. I did make it through everything, and it was mostly delicious.
But he only wanted us to use chopsticks, and the fellow next to me, a dear friend who had something of a drinking problem, could not manipulate his chopsticks and kept imploring me to help him throughout the meal. Finally, to silence him and to enable me to enjoy my meal, the host brought out a fork for him.
