CLEAN AS A WHISTLE

Well, you've read the notes, the notes were clean as a whistle, and now it is time for you to post until the clean cows come home.  To it, I say.

I have a natural tendency to avoid proclivities - especially when attending a barber.

Stunning Olympic news...

Michelle Kwan pulled out...

I am going to hit the sack. The puter room is now in some semblance of order...

I also really like the Olympics, although I have a hard time watching them on tape delay.  IF something has already happened, it seems odd to be nervous awaiting the results.

I do like figure skating. And I even like curling when the Canadians are playing.  But one of my favorites to watch (which can make a person crazy with nerves) is speed skating.  They fall so often, it is crazy on the nerves!

I wasn't able to watch much yesterday since i was gone all day.  And i'm not sure how much i can watch today. My sister is having a big party for her husband's sister and her family (who arrived from nunavut). But they may have their big screen tv on during the party. We shall see!

...I just got up to peek outside, and noticed at least a foot of snow in the backyard... Turned on the news... Checked online... Yep, it's a blizzard.

I hope everyone remains safe.

...And we actually had lightning and thunder snow last night too... I woke up thinking it was the sound of a snow plow... And then saw a couple of flashes every now and then... Then heard the thunder...

Hmm... Time for a pic or two, I believe.

Good morning, all!  I love the quiet of the City after a huge snow.  I have yet to hear the sound of a snow shovel scraping against concrete this morning.  And the City is beautiful covered in snow.  I'm listening to Haydn's "Mass in Time of War" and enjoying the feeling of beng snowed in.

I was going to hit the recording office today, but I think I'll stay in and work on Toyland notes at the computer instead.

As DR MBarnum reported, I watched the Bridie Murphy-inspired THE UNDEAD last night,  I loved this film as a kid, and  I think it holds up fairly well, given the fact that the special effects are cheaper than my porn.  The dialogue is poor man's Olde English, but the story's pretty well told, and Dorothy Neumann's makeup as old Meg Maud is plain peculiar enough to keep the viewer fascinated.

As for the beloved Allison Hayes?  Huge, humongous bazooms and a lot of sincere acting.  I think she always had a proclivity to sneer her dialogue, but she has two levels of sneer:  hard and soft.  I loved Pamela Duncan, who was better than I remembered, but the joke on me is that I have always thought for the past 40 years that Alison had played Pamela's role.

So, I'll start a TOD: are there film performances you've seen again and realized you've confused credits?

Can I ask one of you in NYC a favor?

How much snow is predicted for today?  And when is it supposed to stop?

My sister just called and I totally forgot that my parents were coming back from their vacation today through new york city. They are supposed to take a bus back here at 1pm.  But i'm wondering if the bus station will be operating?

Does anybody know?  Thanks.

Well... They just said that all three New York City area airports are basically closed... Hold on... Airport update coming right now...

Ah, all airports are still open at this time, but most carriers have cancelled all flights for today.  Call your airline.

Oh, which bus system are they taking?  The public transit systems have basically suspended bus operations right now.

Hope your parents make it back safe and sound.

And 18-24 inches of snow here in the City... Due to start tapering off around 1:00pm... Could continue until around 6:00pm...

I've been checking the updates on the WNBC site -

Re Elmore's question of the day - No film performances where I've confused credits, but as a VERY VERY young kid, with the TV show FAMILY AFFAIR, the  credits announced only "Brian Keith and Sebastian Cabot," I naturally assumed that those were the names of the actors playing the kids - since to my way of thinking the kids were the stars of the show.  Obviously, I had no conception that Sebastian was not a girl's name.  :)

Good morning!

After the bleak, gray, cold-drenched day we had yesterday, what a delight to see blue skies outside this morning! Still going to be cold (highs in low 40s), but what a change from yesterday.

I didn't log back on last night due to "the big sleep."

I fell asleep in my chair, and didn't wake up until amost 1 a.m. Then, just put myself to bed and continued sleeping. Not having felt well the latter part of the week, I guess my body just needed this rest very much. Two cups of hot chocolate could also have ease me into my slumbers.
