Good morning, all!  I want to be out the door by 8:30 beause I have a trip to Rockeo for a haircut. It's about three weeks late and I am looking shabby and shaggy. Once I am at Rockefeller Center, I will stop at the Post Office and mail three packages. The barber appointment is at 9:30. I will follow that with a trip down to Toyland before I head up to the NYPL on another biography search. I shall then return home and wrap gifts for tomorrow's events.

DR elmore - Remember, that since you're part of the production staff for Finian's Rainbow you can get all of your merch at cost - or at least at a sizable discount.  Your company manager should have the forms if the merch people won't sell and pass on the discount to you directly.

DR td - As for "Unusual Way"... Have you ever heard Sumi Jo's version? Sumi Jo is a coloratura soprano, and she released a crossover album of Broadway songs, "Only Love" (http://www.amazon.com/Sumi-Jo-Only-Stephen-Sondheim/dp/B00004GP1Z/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&s=music&qid=1261657498&sr=8-1), a couple of years ago.  It's quite an interesting listen. *The album is currently out of print, but the Amazon listing I linked to, still has the audio clips/samples.

Once again, thanks for the the Travel Vibes.  There was no traffic on the way down, and the staff made sure to put all the Baltimore-bound passengers on another bus before we left NYC.  However, even though we saved some time by not having to stop in Charm City, the driver ended up missing one of the exits off of 95 in Virginia for one of the "family" drop-offs.  -Although, I think I'm the only passenger who was awake and realized that he had turned around for an exit.

This morning's breakfast:

Scrambled eggs, grits, country ham, whole wheat biscuit toast.  OJ.  Coffee.

Lunch yesterday: Pinto beans, crowder peas, macaroni 'n cheese, turnip greens, pork backbone (very tender), pork chop.  It was all "leftovers" from previous meals, and it was yummy.

Tonight, we're going to cousin Debra's for the annual Christmas Eve supper.  The menu this time is hamburger steak, seven-layer salad and baked potatoes.  I'd have gladly made spaghetti sauce for the event, but I did that last year (IIRC).  And...my Uncle Rock had us all over for a spaghetti dinner last week.

My mom and aunt spent yesterday morning getting ready for, and then going to, a funeral.   Lots of elderly people in this town.  Every Christmas, it seems, one of their friends dies just before Christmas Day.

I used that time and vacuumed the house (about 3,000 sq.ft.).  I also put together some flowers for my dad's grave, took my mom's laundry out of the dryer and folded it, and then I wrapped some gifts for my mom and had them under the tree before she got home.

Good morning all.

Our high speed went out last night but it seems to be back up.

DAW to answer your question from last night, things on Long Island are very nice. We are relaxed and sleeping late (at least for me 7:30 is considered late). I'm eating too much but it is the holidays and the exercise bike awaits my return from Long Island. We already know what we're getting for Christmas but we will pretend to be surprised when the packages are opened this evening (the Morelli's are a Christmas Eve family, while growing up I was in a Christmas Day family). We will go to Anthony's uncle and aunt tomorrow for Christmas day dinner and then we will probably head back to New York on Saturday unless the predicted rain is too much in which case we will postpone until Sunday.

I then still have another full week of vacation. We have no plans for New Years Eve. We will probably stay in, even though Dear Amy (Edi) will be in New York. We stay as far away from Times Square as possible (it may be fun for the first time but it's a MADHOUSE and once is enough).

I found out yesterday that in spite of the financial issues at the office I am getting a bonus but it's not a traditional cash (or check) bonus. Instead I get a floating holiday to be used anytime during the year and I will get a special "lunch with the president". I'm glad to get the floating holiday but lunch with the president (not Barak) is kind of weird since I see him frequently during the year. I've been part of the 14 presentations from April to November (which is why I received the bonus) and they already have a presentation scheduled for January 6th, two days after I return. Oh, well. Lunch should be fun, whatever happens.

We must go to the Credit Union and either Target or Walgreens. We need some blank CD-Rs and Target is near the Credit Union but Walgreens is having a sale on blank recordable media. If we can find one near us we will go to Walgreens and save a few dollars.

It's December the 24th, but I am NOT longing to be up north!

Especially since a storm is heading through the area again. I assume my family is all safe and warm. They will gather tomorrow and I will call them since they will all be in one place. Since I'm the one away from them all I have to call but with everyone being at my sister's it will be easier to talk to them.

I should probably walk on the treadmill here on Long Island today (since I've been eating like a PIG!!!). There is much more snow here than in Manhattan and driving is a bit treacherous because there are many of those traffic blocking snow piles left by plow drivers.

We went riding last night after our candlelight service at the Johnston Baptist Church.

The outside lights were sparse...and very scattered.  SC has a 12.3% unemployement rate.  Electricity is one of those utilities that folks cut back on first.

It's kind of sad.  Used to be you could ride through any street and see wonderful displays of lights at each house.

I slept like the dead and overslept my usual wake-up time by over half an hour. Boy, was I tired last night! It's a gorgeous day here, and so when I have to go out later, it won't be nearly as unpleasant as it might have been. We're supposed to get some rain over the next two days.

All of Tom Laughlin's films are too long. I find them tedious to sit through now because of their overlength and slow pacing. BORN LOSERS, which introduced the character of Billy Jack, has Billy against a drug dealing, girl raping motorcycle club. (And yet, there is a full, long man-on-man kiss between the club's leader and one of his biker cohorts.) Jane Russell also appears in the movie as a special guest star.

I'd certainly rank the LADY IN THE DARK book I just finished as one of the best books I've read this year. I also got around to finishing HARRY POTTER AND THE DEATHLY HALLOWS. (I could never make my mind up to finish the last couple of chapters until this past summer when my health was so precarious that I thought I'd better finish it while I could.)

I will likely take the day off even if MIGHTY MOUSE appears in the mailbox. It's not due until January 5th, and I have some Blu-ray CHristmas presents I'd like to watch (probably starting with BEETLEJUICE). I also got more Warner Archive discs yesterday, so they're piling up too as well as other CHristmas presents which I'm anxious to explore.

Actually, I think that the story of the Making of BILLY JACK is more interesting than the movie itself, which I have difficulty watching.

It's my understanding that Laughlin and company grabbed the soundtrack of the picture and held it hostage until Warner Brothers agreed to their demands...whatever they might have been.

A joyous Christmas to all my new friends.
Books are a strange lot because I don't tend to read a lot of books from they year they were published. And I read a lot of 19th century fiction this past year. But some of my favorite current writers had works out, so here's a short list of what I enjoyed, even if it wasn't always the best:

"Rhino Ranch," by Larry McMurtry
"That Old Cape Magic," by Richard Russo
"South of Broad," by Pat Conroy
"Last Night in Twisted River," by John Irving
"Juliet, Naked" by Nick Hornby
"Robert Altman, the Oral Biography," by Mitchell Zwukoff (hilarious stories about Tom Laughlin in his pre-"Billy Jack" days)
"Run" by Ann Patchett
"The Scarecrow," Michael Connelly's sequel to "The Poet," of sorts
"Fool" by Christopher Lamb

A few extras that I loved: "Whatever You Do, Don't Run" by Peter Allison (a memoir of a safari guide read while on safari), "Midnight's Children" by Salman Rushdie, "Food in History" by Reay Tannenhill, "Blindness" by Jose Saramago and 10 Anthony Trollope novels.

Well I read the notes quickly from last night, but I am shocked to hear that DR ELMORE is marrying Liza Minnelli, but I hope they will be very happy.

I just got in from my errands and my friend Mario Cantone is doing brilliant impersonations of Judy and Liza on THE VIEW. It's quite funny.

I got to the Rockefeller Center post office at 9 and there was literally one person at the counter. I mailed my packages and went up to the plaza to see this year's tree and I had an epiphany: I was looking at all the toy soldiers and angels and other decorations, and while I was watching the skaters, I realized that it took me 30 years but I've pretty much achieved everything I moved to New York for in 1979. I always knew I wanted to live anywhere but Middletown, Ohio, and throughout high school I would drag home photo books of Paris, Rome, New York, London and other places I hoped to visit at some point. Thank you all for the wonderful HHW vibes for Dog Bosco. Sadly, the vet called last night to inform me that his white blood cell count is too high and some other things are off. She thinks that he has a tumor in his spleen and his thyroid is a bit off....so we are going to treat the thyroid situation, and the other situation will just have to play out it's course.

At present Dog Bosco seem to feel and act fine, other then drinking LOTS of water and having an occasional incontinence problem while sleeping. But I can deal with that. the possibility of losing him will be tougher, but that is life and I am grateful for the years that I have had him and for whatever time we have left together.

While I'm not working in the theatre as much as I like, I have accomplished all of my goals in moving here, except being rich, and it was a nice Christmas present to realize that.

It's a wonderful life, Larry.
And you are very rich in other, more important ways.

On the brighter side, we had a nice Christmas last night. Many gifts were opened and food was eaten.

4 year old Benny was very vocal about which gifts he received that he did not like, including my DVDs of the Three Stooges. His sister Taylor was quite thrilled with her DVDs of BECAUSE OF WINN DIXIE and some AMERICAN GIRL movie.

Baby Cole simply liked everything and everybody and was especially intrigued by Dog Bosco. Cole's dog is much, much smaller.

I am unsure if there is to be any further Christmas celebrations, and I am fine with that as frankly I would enjoy spending Christmas day at home watching Christmas movies.

I have not seen the show or heard the score of NINE - I did see 8 1/2 recently and enjoyed it, but I am on the fence about the movie.

Well... Just clear your head before heading to the movie theatre... Pay your $10(?)... And sit back for two hours...

And if you end up not liking it, all you've given up is $10 and two hours.

I think you'll like it.  It's not a bad movie by any means.  Even the NY Times' review isn't that bad.  I do think it runs about 10-15 minutes too long, but you'll definitely be at an advantage coming to it "fresh".  -You won't be sitting there wondering "What happened to this song?" and "Did they cut that verse?" and "Ah, they changed the lyric because...."

*And the cinematography(?) of the Italian coastline is stunning!  -At least it was on the BIG screen at The Ziegeld.

OH!

And my streak of Twitter-Luck seems to continue...

Zagat (http://zagat.com) was running a special contest for their NYC-based Followers.  They started a new ad campaign, and whoever took the most pictures of their news ads around town and posted them to Twitter would win.  Well, I won!  And it's quite a nice prize: a 1-year subscription to Zagat.com and a $200 VISA gift card!  Merry Christmas to me! ;)

*I'm actually wondering just who else entered.  I did a search on Twitter for entries/entrants and only came up with two other people.  -And those two people were the two runners-up.  -And one of them actually took pictures of various restaurant's Zagat ratings window cards, not their new ads (http://twitpic.com/ugh3s).

Alert the media:

I have been informed our dinner tonight will not consist of hamburger steaks after all.

The menu has been changed to barbecued chicken.  I don't know if that impacts the baked potatoes and seven-layer salad or not.  I suspect it will and that we will have mashed potatoes-and gravy and-corn.

Some things are predictably predictable.

Apparently my niece threw it on the floor and said she had too many necklaces (this was at daycare). My sister was not happy about this.

re: the TOD.

Recently i did read the 4th book to a series i really like (it's called GRAVE SECRET). Many people have heard of Charlaine Harris (she writes the Sookie Stackhouse books that TRUE BLOOD is based on).

She writes another series called the Harper Connelly Mysteries. It's about a 20 something girl who was hit by lightning. And now she can feel if a body is buried where she is standing.

Another book I really liked which i read this week is by Lisa McMann.  The first book is called WAKE and the one i just read is the sequel called FADE. It's in the young adult section and it's about an 18 year old girl who goes into people's dreams (if they fall asleep and she is near them).

DR Jane, the recipe calls for 20 cups of popped popcorn.  I've never measured, just filled the roasting pan that I inherited from my mother-in-law.  And, Keith will have to help you, because it requires some "muscle" to stir it - and tell him to wear an oven mitt, that caramel is HOT when it touches your skin!

TOD - not all published in 2009, but my favorite reads this year were People of the Book by Geraldine Brooks, Hannah Coulter by Wendell Berry, The Red Leather Diary by Lily Koppel, Mary, Mrs. A Lincoln by Janis Cooke Newman, and Animal, Vegetable, Miracle by Barbara Kingsolver.

And, BK, I have yet to read the Adrianna Hofstetter mystery series.  In February, my book group is having a young adult literature roundtable and I'm saving them for that, OK?

ginny what amount of popcorn do you use for 1 recipe of syrup?

I always use one bag of microwave popcorn.  And i always use corn syrup with the margerine and brown sugar.

hmm, i'll have to check what one bag of microwave pop corn equals.  all this talk about caramel corn, keith is making pop corn tonight.  i think i shall indulge since it is x-mas eve.  normally i try not to eat pop corn at night cuz it keeps me awake.  if i had caramel corn with the extra sugar i would never sleep, good thing we don't have corn syrup in the house.

Chopping away.  There is now no question that the darling neighbors will indeed be bumping heads with me this evening, Do-wise.  They've got their gardeners back even though they were there on Monday.  I'll tell you, all the lifting of boxes and moving things around - I think I pulled about twenty muscles in my back.

ginny what amount of popcorn do you use for 1 recipe of syrup?

DR Jane, the recipe calls for 20 cups of popped popcorn.  I've never measured, just filled the roasting pan that I inherited from my mother-in-law.  And, Keith will have to help you, because it requires some "muscle" to stir it - and tell him to wear an oven mitt, that caramel is HOT when it touches your skin!

THAT'S A LOT OF CARMEL CORN!  I didn't realize there was that much sauce.  i would only make a small amount-major down sizing of the recipe needed here-lol

I watched two episodes of THE MENTALIST after I got back from lunch with best friend John and his two kids.

The first episode concerned the murder of a movie producer. Among the suspects were his actress wife and his daughter and her bad boy boy friend. A pretty easy case to solve actually. Not one of Patrick's most sterling moments.

Michael, I'm so sorry to hear about Bosco. :'(

While I'm not working in the theatre as much as I like, I have accomplished all of my goals in moving here, except being rich, and it was a nice Christmas present to realize that.

That's great!  Congrats, Larry!

Congrats on ANOTHER Twitter win, Jose!

Crap....It's Cold

The End

I didn't realize that there was supposed to be a picture!  It didn't show up on my computer.  When I quoted DAW's post, I saw that there was code for a picture (click HERE (http://wallpapers.free-review.net/wallpapers/42/Winter%2C_snow.jpg) for the full sized picture), but it was different than what I'd ever seen before.  So, I experimented with the code in DAW's post and found that we can manually resize large photos!  Look...this is a normal ratio:

We both have to perform Christmas Eve services tonight.  Meaning that we won't arrive at our place of family celebration until after 3:00 AM.         :(

Same here, except that I don't have to perform tonight. And, well, the church is around the corner, so I'll be home right after it's over.

I have sauteed and am now simmering.  Perhaps I'll watch a motion picture on Blu and Ray whilst the simmering occurs.

I rarely see Bagley CDs in used bins either. It's really frustrating because there are some I don't have and others that I have burned that I would like to replace with regular copies.

I only have 3 or 4 of the Ben Bagley CDs.  It's frustrating, because I would purchase all of them if they were available, but they're not and you can't.

Just got in from my one day of Christmas shopping. Yesterday I spent all day getting out review copies of our film in rough cut form. One thing about only having a day to shop is that you make decisions faster. And shopping on Christmas Eve...I thought it would be hell, but actually everything was surprisingly empty.

I usually go to my Dad's Christmas Eve, and split Christmas day between my mom and Greg's parents. This year they will be on 3 separate days, which makes things a little easier since they all involve quite a bit of driving.

Now to wrapping and roasting potatoes. I'm cooking brunch and bringing it to my mom's. It was easier than making my house "company-ready".

Good Evening!

I'm back from Christmas Eve Mass.  I have to say that I'm still not used to the "customs" at my parents' current parish. It's all a little too homespun for me, at least in comparison to the Cathedral parish we belonged to in Northern Virginia.  There's nothing blasphemous going on.  I guess I just miss a proper choir and a grand organ with herald trumpets. In any case...

I was reminded about a couple of things tonight:

-There is good handbell playing/ringing.  There is bad handbell playing/ringing.  There is no in-between.
-All babies are beautiful on Christmas Eve and Christmas Day.  Well, almost all of them.
-I'm always amazed just how much "vocal muscle memory" I've retained from my grade school years.  There are still some hymns that just don't sit well in my voice.
-I prefer singing "Adeste Fideles" rather than "O Come All Ye Faithful".
-I still start to cry when I start the second verse to "Silent Night".

DR JMK one Sylvia and Frances story, please.  For Christmas.

Well this one is extremely festive.  I got to know a waiter at a little Village restaurant where evidently Ms. Sidney was a regular customer.  Said waiter happened to be a Franatic.  One night Ms. Sidney had come in and was evidently already in her cups and then proceeded to drink quite heartily at this little place throughout the evening.  The waiter was a bit nervous but ultimately built up enough courage to walk up to Ms. Sidney and ask her what she thought about Frances.  Sidney evidently glared briefly at the waiter with one of those "if looks can kill" gazes and then let out a resounding belch, followed by just a bit of spit up.   "That's what I think about that talentless bitch," was her only comment, and then she stood up and left.

(You must remember Sylvia was married to Luther Adler and there were evidently rumors going around during Golden Boy that Frances wasn't just being intimate with Odets, LOL).

 ;D

And my parents' church has an ad hoc orchestra accompanying their choir (which consists of 2 sopranos, 8 altos and 2 questionable baritones).  Tonight's instrumental ensemble consisted of:

Piano
Organ
Hammered Dulcimer
Hand Bells
Flute
Percussion: Congas (which doubles as timpani) and a suspended cymbal.

Quite the Joyful Noise! ;)

*It should also be noted that the woman playing the hand bells also played the flute, although not at the same time. But something tells me that if she could, she would.

I'm actually skipping out right now on a party being hosted by some friends-of-my-parents-whom-I've-never-met.  First of all, I'm still feeling a bit off kilter from last night's bus ride and lack of sleep.  Secondly, as soon as we got back from church, my sinuses started begging for attention. I don't think I'm coming down with anything.  I just think it's the lack of sleep.  -And I have a feeling I'll probably be in bed by 11:30 tonight, if not sooner.

I prefer my cast iron enameled - a.k.a. Le Creuset.

I understand that's it safe not to use soap when cleaning a cast iron skillet, but, still, I'd rather use soap.

As for seasoning, there are a couple of different methods.  One of the easiest is to rub a nice film of shortening over the whole pan, then place it in a 300 degree oven, "upside down", for a while.  The easiest - and tastiest - method is to cook a pound of bacon in it.  Just cut open a package, place the whole slab in there, and slowly bring the pan up to temp, and cook until the fat is rendered from the bacon.

It looks like the nieces/nephew/grandkids won't be coming down from Fairfax until Saturday, so...  I should be able to sleep in - and finish wrapping their presents. ;)

Then tomorrow afternoon, I'll be spending a few hours with Steve's family.  We're all gathering at his father's house.  It will be his first Christmas without his wife, Dora (Steve's mother). I'm sure that after we all get a good cry or two out of the way, we'll be feasting on Papa Austin's famous smoked turkey breast and other Austin family favorites.

I have been watching the Universal Sci Fi Collections, followed by WHAT'S UP DOC?, and now LOVE ME OR LEAVE ME.  I am my own tv programmer!

LOVE ME OR LEAVE ME was Percy Faith's only Oscar nomination.  You managed to get 2 of my 3 obsessions mentioned tonight.  Anyone for a Sergio Mendes anecdote?  ;)

I began my evening with GIVE A GIRL A BREAK from the Warner Archive. It looks quite a bit better than I LOVE MELVIN with much better color and sharpness and without interlaced artifacts everywhere. Sure, there's dirt and debris (of different colors), and those bothersome blue flashes which seemed to affect all MGM Technicolor movies in 1952-53 years. Glad to have it. Now if EVERYTHING I HAVE IS YOURS would come out, I could get rid of the laserdisc that has both of them in the set.

My filmmaking partner, Peter, just sent me a set of cast iron skillets. Now I need to learn about how to "season" them. Apparently, these are something people who cook find essential which probably explains why I don't have any.

They also look nice when hung on the wall.

Next I watched A COLBERT CHRISTMAS, that silly CHristmas special Stephen Colbert did last year. I reviewed it then and pulled it off the shelf to rewatch tonight. Looks really wonderful with bright, rich color. I enjoyed seeing it again.

I finished my evening watching STAR! Since I've had Gertrude Lawrence and LADY IN THE DARK on my mind a lot while reading that book over the course of the last week, I wanted to watch this again. Didn't quite have enough time to see the whole thing, but I got Gertie married to Richard Aldrich before I had to close up shop.

Thank You for all the Birthday Wishes for my niece, Alexandra.  I will be sure to pass them on to her when she arrives Saturday morning.

*And thanks for the congratulations on my Twitter wins.  Even I'm sort of surprised at how many things I've won over the past few weeks.  There's a big computer giveaway on Saturday, and if I win that, well... I'm definitely going to buy a bunch of lottery tickets next week.  Or maybe not. ;)

Well, I learned the CD of "E Y Harburg Revisited" was titled "Hold Onto Your Hats," which may be why I never bothered picking it up. If any DR has the CD, please let me know.

And speaking of "Yip" Harburg, this week's "Connections" column by Edward Rothstein in the New York Times...

...We stay as far away from Times Square as possible (it may be fun for the first time but it's a MADHOUSE and once is enough).

I feel the same way about making snow angels.  It's fun the first time, but too cold and wet to make it a habit.

Thank you to DR Cillaliz for the beautiful snow angel she shared with us this morning.  I hope there was a big cup of hot chocolate waiting for you inside!

Lots of things are fun the first time. I hope Times Square will be one of them!

I've always thought it would be fun to be there once.   Have a great time Edi!

I stopped very briefly ( and I mean very briefly) at a friend's Chrustmas Eve open house.  He did it up right, with the candle lit paper bags lining his walkway to the house.  His wife also made these delicious peanut butter and chocolate sandwich cookies.  I stuffed a handful into my pocket and ran.

Merry Christmas.  My brother went out and checked the road going to his house and called us to say we should stay put.  So I broiled some salmon, baked some sweet potatoes, steamed some broccoli and we had a nice dinner.

Yummmm... save me a bite...

Would love to!

DR edisaurus - Just remember, people start gathering in Times Square in the morning - as soon as the police finish setting up the blockades.  -And once you're "in", you are in.  They do set up porta-potties, but there's also that system where people form a circle around someone while they do their business on top of a subway grate.  Otherwise...

Also remember, that around 12:30am (on January 1, 2010), the NYPD will only let people who can show proof that they either live in Times Square or are staying in a Times Square hotel through Times Square.  Otherwise, 8th and 6th Avenues will be your friend.  They close it off so that the sanitation department can do their magic(!), and have everything cleaned up by 7:00am. -That ALWAYS amazes me.

Otherwise, wear comfortable shoes and some good layers of clothing.  It really is quite the experience.  I almost did it again last year - I braved the crowds back in 1991 - but opted to attend a party at a friend's apartment over on 10th Ave. with a great view of the revelers.

All of the above.  Or below, as the case may be.

Thankfully, most of the subway grates are also set up as storm drains, so that no water - or other liquids (or solids :-\) - falls onto the tracks or passengers.  It all goes into the sewer system.  -But there are a few stations where it sometimes "rains" inside the station even though it's not raining outside the station.  -Yeah, I know, gross and TMI.

Greetings one and all

Merry Christmas to one and alll from Wisconsin. After a 13 hour trip to Stevens Point, WI and taht included an hour in the ditch about 20 miles from our destination courtesy of a semi truck.

We had decent driving until we got on the east side of St. Cloud and we hit freezing sleet and snow... It took us two hours to get through the cities.

WE did go have a very nice supper tonight at a local restaurant that served roasted goose. It was quite good.

The weather up here is not pretty at all. We had freezing rain in this part of Wisconsin.

I wanted to stop by and extend holiday greetings.

Since we haven't had a parody of "Something Greater" from APPLAUSE in a while, here's "Subway Grating"

A sudden stream that's flowing
From some New Years tourist
That subway grating

A yellow tinge that's showing
It isn't the purest
That subway grating

The stunning gold of showers
That gets New Yorkers smirking
Like some head waiter

It may go on for hours
With pumps that aren't working

I know that subway grating

A Stagedoor Manor rendition of the real song "Something Greater"  :)

The Do is Done and I must say it was pretty faboo.  Despite a few no-shows and starting off with just singingnymph, her friend, and me, we soon had a roomful of people and it built from there.  I'd say overall there were probably fifteen to twenty people - we also had dear reader Noel, Richard Berent, Karen Morrow (such a doll), a person from the film score messageboard and his two guests, John Holly (a producer/general manager), PennyO, LACCTAA board member Joanna Erdos, my pal Melissa Ficociello (the set designer of What If), Doug Haverty and his wife and daughter, Adryan Russ and her ever-lovin' Dale Cook, and I think I'm forgetting a couple of people.  I'll say more in the notes, which I'm going to write right now.  Oh, yeah, I forgot - the lady I license from at MGM came - she's a wonderful gal.
