DH Richard and I have officially dropped out of the competition for Thursday night TWELFTH NIGHT tickets.  We're just not up to worrying about the weather and such.  I think we'll try for THE TIN PAN ALLEY RAG that's playing just a few doors down from us.

Beloved British TV actress Mollie Sugden has died, aged 86.

The TV star passed away in hospital in Surrey, England on Wednesday after a long running illness, according to her agent.

Her twin sons Robin and Simon were by her bedside.

Sugden shot to fame in Brit sitcom Are You Being Served? in 1972 and appeared in a string of other television shows, including The Liver Birds and long-running soap opera Coronation Street

Texas is definitely different from Los Angeles.  More laid back.  People are certainly friendlier.

How was it for you when you moved?

We have moved so many times & each experience has been different.  One thing I always do now is join the local Newcomers Club.  I always find a book discussion group.    It can be exhausting meeting new people all the time when you don't have comfortable friends to fall back on.  It takes time. I figure it can take up to two years to really feel comfortable with new people, it depends how lucky you are. 

Considering how long we have lived here we should have a busier social life.  I think we have turned into homebodies, at least at night.

Veteran actor Jan Rubes has died, aged 89.

Rubes passed away on Tuesday. His cause of death was unknown as WENN went to press.

Born in Czechoslovakia, the star found fame in the 1940s as an opera singer and won first prize at the Geneva International Music Festival in 1948.

He furthered his career by moving to Canada before branching out into acting.

His most noted role was opposite Harrison Ford in 1985 film Witness,

Such a busy day, and not in a good way.  So many people.  I hope they all had wonderful lives.  At least none of them were young.  DR Druxy thanks for the tidbit on Carl Malden.

I'm glad he didn't want to appear in public. Some stars have common sense and realize when it's time to step away from the spotlight. Far too many people don't have the sense to quietly retire. He was 97 fricking years old. He didn't need to be making public appearances.

I saw his name listed in the credits while I was watching it one night, and it took me almost the entire episode to figure out which one he was.
