Everywhere I travel, I expect the country, county or state to provide me with a cat to pet. And Italy came through today with this feral beauty who has apparently been well fed and only wanted to have her ears scratched. When I stopped she got mad, so I resumed.

DR JOHN G's kitten photos could join DR LAURA'S hotel carpet photos as an HHW Tradition

I don't think John G. has been around long enough to have endured my casino carpet photos.

I have been sitting here blubbering over Anderson Cooper giving this sweet young lady a brand new washer and dryer (except she still has no place for it).

I have CARMELINA and the bootleg of 1600 PENNSYLVANIA AVE, which actually sounds pretty good.

I had a blowout on the freeway once long ago. It is indeed scary. I'm glad there weren't many cars around and BK was able to safely get to the right side.

The story about the offramp to Forest Hills sounds like a nice, ominous start to a horror story. Bruce?

Well, a shed is better than nothing.

DR Danise did you have the option for a smaller space with smaller machines?

Back - replaced the tire, and one other in the rear - tires have gotten pricey, haven't they.  Since it took an hour I went to Du-Par's and had two poached eggs on toast.

That reminds me, BK, I saw something on the innerweb yesterday which showed an old 1920s or 30s photo of a strange diner shaped like an airplane which was where Dupar's on Ventura now is.

There used to be--maybe still is--a chain of restaurants in Southern California called the 49TH AIR SQUADRON or something like that, and they had a aeronautical motif. But I doubt that they went back to the 1920s or '30s.

I have been waiting for this! Tonight's reading just arrived from Amazon.

And what a nice and unexpected surprise: my friend, the author, acknowledged me in his thanks.

Is this baby in the photo the author?

The only time I can think of when we had the freedom to take a spontaneous vacation was after Echo & Bogie died and before we got Sherlock.  We took three spontaneous trips then, all to go look at puppies. ;D

I would like to take a fun spontaneous trip.

That silver tabby doesn't look very feral to me. It looks like you should pick him up and hold him in your lap to scratch his ears.
