Watched two enjoyable shows this afternoon after I returned home from lunch.

First up was VERONICA MARS and it's getting more and more complicated in sorting out exactly who all the people are that Veronica is quietly investigating in her attempt to discover the perpetrator of the bus calamity.

The weekly cases she's involved in are always quirky and fun, but the bigger picture of the season-long mystery sometimes puts my brain into overload with all these people.

Thanks Jason and Vixmom. It has been easier than I thought it would be. The really weird part is that I dream I'm smoking almost every night

Better go. I've got work to do.   Plus, our temps keep calling in sick or not showing up....what's with that? You get a temp job and then just don't go? No phone call nada. What's with these people. Don't say yes if you aren't going to show up!!!

Then I watched LAW & ORDER recorded last night.

My, what a great group of stage actors appearing on the show last night including Terry Mann and Stephen Lang. Love both of them. Interesting case, too.

Who here uses a wireless keyboard and wireless mouse?

I have a question: how long do batteries typically last in the keyboard and mouse? A month? Longer?

I love Terence Mann. I keep hoping that we are somehow related to him, but I haven't found a link yet!

So glad that Starfighter review seemed to acknowledge BK's contributions to the industry in general.

Yes, that is nice!  So...how does one submit a recording for a Grammy? :D

I have a wireless mouse (not keyboard) and I use two double-A batteries.  I've had it a little less than a year and I've only had to change the batteries once...and not too long ago.  It was a Logitec brand.  Hope that helps.

Just stopped in for a moment before leaving work.  I'll be going to my book group tonight to discuss The Tipping Point, which I found quite tedious.

Thanks, that's just the kind of information I was looking for. A friend went looking at these today, and there was a Logitech model that I liked (keyboard and mouse) which was $50 off, and I immediately put on my CHristmas list. But if the batteries were going to be flaking out after a week or two, I was going to have to invest in more rechargeable batteries.

George - Unfortunately, my Grammy is no longer with us, but I'm sure if my Grammy were still around, she would have loved that review.

(That is a joke, slightly morbid and also stolen from a joke BK once made on All That Chat, but still a joke.  :)  )

I've done that midnight show thing twice: JURASSIC PARK and BATMAN AND ROBIN. Of course, with JP we were all juiced by that amazing feat of movie magic. With B&R, well, let's just say I liked it better than those I was with (though I'll admit much of it was very lame).
Ah, the fond memories.  A friend and I went to the midnight opening of Star Wars (the original) at Grauman's Chinese, back when it still was Grauman's.  Standing in line for what seemed like forever, finally getting in, and then the previews of all the other films were shown.

And then they stopped, and in the dark the side curtains (aka "legs") could be heard moving back, and when the film began everyone realized that the screen was indeed wider and taller and then the spaceships started flying in from the top of the screen...

I think everyone in the theater gasped when that happened.

This morning I went for a walk, and this is what I saw:
When I walked to work today, I saw a couple of turkey buzzards.

Not worth taking a picture, trust me.

Yep!  I saw it months later in Washington DC...still playing first-run on a 70 mm screen.

It took my breath away...and then some.  So few people now can appreciate how stunning and groundbreaking this film was cinematically -- aural and visual splendors the likes of which only our imaginations could have previously envisioned.

You may consider yourself fortunate.

I see turkey butts every day...on the street and, on occasion, one will stroll into the office.

I pray for rain!
