I see that actress Nan Martin has died.

She was in one of the INVISIBLE MAN sequels, I think....very pretty Universal starlet....unless I am thinking of the wrong girl.

At work today....oh well.

Couldn't be her.  She didn't start in the biz until the mid-1950s.

However, according to the imdb, she did play Freddy Krueger's mother in one of the NIGHTMARE ON ELM STREET movies.

Yesterday morning the news was showing a clip of a drunken man who fell on the train tracks in Phoenix only to be rescued by two men who rushed to his aid-

I immediately wondered if it was Drunk Duane

Several years ago, my late friend/client Dan O'Herlihy did a play reading with Nan Martin at a theater in Malibu.

For the life of me, I can't remember the title of the play, but it's a 2-person play about George Bernard Shaw and his exchange of letters with a famous actress of his day.

Somebody here must know the title and name of the actress.  My 69-year-old memory can't recall it.

In any event, I do remember that Dan was very pissed off at Ms. Martin.  This was supposed to be a reading, and she had memorized her role, which made Dan look bad because he was carrying his script.

Ellen Terry?

Maybe, but I'm not sure.

I think the play is called DEAR...?

It used to be performed quite often.

I have started going back to the gym as my reintroduction to eating has done so well that I have found I am sudenly 15 lbs heavier than I wanted to be

I have been there four times this week - for an hour Mon, Tues, Thursday and Friday and I am scheduled for a "free one hour assessment"  (read "personal trainer hard sell") at noon today - I jhust want to learn how to use allth3e new machines in this gym - this is adiffernt gym than th4e one I used to belong to .

The onld one cost me $60 a month - this new one (brand new - irt was just built in the new shopping center the down the block from my home and only opened in November)  only costs $20 a month - and it's closer to my home

BK did, of course, play the Dan O'Herlihy LAST STARFIGHTER role (Grig) in the fall 2006 readings of the LAST STARFIGHTER musical.

And now, to find a cab to get to the tax office.

When he was filming the movie, Dan would sometimes drive home in full make-up, in order to see the reactions of other drivers.

The Vixter is on hour 23 of her 30 hour fast - she is ( for the 4th year now) joining with her Youth Group  to fast for 30 hours while collecting donations for the World Vision.  Then for four hours this afternoon tehy willstand outside of local grocery stores and collect monetary and non-perishable food donations for local food pantries

I think that THEATERMANIA managing editor, Dan Bacalzo, should check his facts before he runs an article.  Helen Keller was not born blind and deaf.  She became bind and deaf at the age of two, following an unknown illness.

The Oscars start here at 8:30. That always makes for SUCH a long night. (Of course arrivals begin on ABC a half hour earlier, and on other cable channels much earlier.)

Thanks, Matt.  I just now focused on that 8:30 start time - a half hour later than it had been in recent years.  I wonder why.

Probably because none of the nominated songs will be performed. Of course, that happens the year Randy Newman is nominated for TWO songs.  >:(

TOD, sort of:

Greg left a tool-box looking thing at Delta last week when he was wrapping a job in a big hanger. It was full of expensive gear. He spent days trying to track it down.

Since he had a few days off, there was a window of opportunity to hang two antique deco sconces. He had already done a lot of the wiring but never had time to complete the job. After they're installed, we will hang family pictures in that area (a little hall between the bedroom and the former bedroom turned gear room) and put a console there. This is where the big litterbox is, so we had a frame built to elevate the console so the kittys will have some "work room". I bought a rug which I hope will disguise the litter they track out. Then it should be a more functional tiny area instead of a black hole.

The sconces disappeared and I thought I had hidden them from myself. Greg went to storage and looked but didn't see them. Yesterday, I went back to storage with them and they were in the box with all the other antique lights; he just hadn't dug deep enough. He had forgotten he had wrapped htem up and taken them to storage. Within a few minutes he also got a call that his box of transmitters was safe and sound, locked in an office. So something must have freed up in the planetary alignment for us to find things we'd forgoten. I'm very happy to be proceeding with this project. The house is too small not to have things where they're supposed to be.

I envy JMK his big house!

I wonder if I have ever met, Drunk Duane.  I used to know nothing but drunks, back in my drinking days; but that was sixteen years ago.  Do we have any idea how old Drunk Duane might be?  Can you tell if he sounds old or young?

What a great name for a character, "Drunk Duane".

Mind if I use it for a script?
